I never got to introduce myself, so here is me in a little nutshell. I was brought to the United States when I was 9 which means 9 years and 8 months ago. I never wanted to leave the country I only knew, but I had to since we came following my dad because he was already here. I always had that anger towards my mom and would always blame it on them that if I was in mexico I could still have everything I dont have here(stuff that depends on your immigration status) but I got over it and I am thankful now. I am a middle child and the one who took the longest when it came to learning English. After 3 years I got the hang of it. I went on to school and during my senior year I was the only undocumented student in my class it was hard at times but nothing was impossible. When it came time to graduate everybody was planning the big "senior trip" which was to go to the bahamas. My friends knew about my situation but to make me happy and to be together we decided to go to Florida. Story short- I got a scholarship which is full ride even with obstacles and my status in the US. The day I was approved I felt so relief and humble and happy at the same time. Not everybody gets this opportunity. My goals for now are to enroll in college and be a psychiatrist or forensics pathologist.

I struggled on renewing my DACA as well. I asked for a loan at the bank a minimal loan with no credit record it was 1000 dlls and actually put that it was to renew my legal status and they granted it to me. You should try talking to a loan officer and if you have a car just put that as the collateral thingy. Mine expired a month before I sent it in. I went to my biometrics apointment 19 days before it expired luckily God is amazing and I got approved 4 days after the fingerprints. But you should really try a bank.

It shouldn't take that long mine took 1 week or a little more because they "supposedly" had to get my birth certificate translated it just depends on the social security person that you get. My brother went in last week and he got it printed the next day. His actual social security card didn't come in till like 3 days after which originally was gonna take 2 weeks. I say try applying again with somebody different or ask them if you can talk to a different person. Some social security agents can be jerks.

If you have been granted the 2 year permit and it is about to expire you will need to apply for it again 4 months before it is up. There will be a new form for the people renewing it. I am not sure for the people who have not applied at all.

You are absolutely correct. When I went to apply for a checking account the lady just took it as a normal social security number. What the Social security number has written on it just means that you must have dhs authorization to be able to use it for work. It does not say anything about banking. To me it just sounds like she doesn't want to research it or look it up in the book where it tells you what a person can and cannot use to be able to open an Account. She can refuse all she wants to but it doesn't mean she is doing the right thing >.< I doubt this helped but its something

You can not file a petition for a relative because you are not a resident or a US citizen. DACA does not mean you are officially legal it just means that you are free to stay here without being in fear of being deported at any time.
