  1. Since this is new, I would like for us to share our experiences being interviewed... please state when your interview is and why you think you are being interviewed, also where you are from! I have called Uscis and they don't give me any info other than "the agent reviewing your case believed it was necessary". I have mine on June 20. I believe I am being interviewed because I didn't provide income or expenses on I-765 Worksheet. Please share all your interview experience here! I am from OC California!
  2. Marriage Question?

It is called "adjustment of status" and it is very easy to get your permanent residency. All you have to do is fill out a couple of forms and he has to prove he can take care of you financially. If he can't, he would have to get a sponsor who does make enough money. All of this of course without you having to leave the country. The only reason people leave the country is to have in interview at Juarez, after filing a waiver for entering illegally, which is not your case because you entered legally; regardless as to how long you overstayed.
  3. Where are you from? I've only heard people from California, particularly Orange County!
  4. When they asked me if I had used a fake social, I said yes... if it belonged to someone I know, I said no- I made it up. They asked if I had the actual card, I said I didn't have it. If I knew the number, I said no.

  6. Anybody been to the Westminster DMV? I am planning to go there, but I want to know if they give out the 5 year ones.
  7. So guys finally had my interview!!! Everything went great! The agents were extremely nice and asked me some of the questions on the application... they also asked me if I had used a fake social and if it belonged to someone. They asked me what I have been doing since I graduated from high school. If I was married or had kids. I was very nervous, but they made me feel comfortable. My interview was at 1:30 pm, and by 4 pm I checked the uscis website, and I was on the card production stage!!! Two hours later, both of my applications were approved!!! Can't wait to get my work permit! !!!!!
  8. I Think Im Approved......

    Congrats!!!!
  9. Update*** Additional questions they might ask you: how you crossed the boarder, does the SS# belong to someone you know, and maybe even what have you done since you graduated from High School. At first it was just the application questions, now they are adding more questions. We don't know why, but we believe it depends on your case and how nervous or suspicious you look. Once again, be PREPARED. The interview process seems to be your ticket to approval. Also, most people are getting approved within 2 days and receiving their work permits in approximately a week!!!! Seems like all the stress pays off!!!
  10. Update*** Additional questions they might ask you: what schools you went to, if you work, where, under what social, and why you want DACA. So be prepared!!!!!!
  11. Omg Pattij!!!! So quick!!!!!!!!! Wow Congrats!!!!
  12. Ok guys, update*** So I have been doing my homework, and been asking people around the internet here and there about this whole interview process. So basically this is what goes on during the interview: You go in, show your ID and your notice you got in the mail. DO NOT take in your phone, as they will make you take it back to the car and this could make you late for your interview. You wait for a little while and they call you in. They make you swear that you will be telling the truth. They take you inside an office. They tell you it is just a procedure, something random. Then they ask everything about the I-821 D application (the 6 page one) Nothing about the I765 or i765WS (work permit) applications. While asking you, they are watching your every move, so if you do stuff like tilt your head (something that shows you are in doubt) they will ask you more about that question. They go over every single question, so you might want to take a look at that application question by question and make sure you know what you answered. No one should have a problem because you should know the questions since they are about your life. Of course never mention any details if they ask you how you got here. You can say you don't recall, you were little. Back to the interview, it is very brief, 15-20 minutes. The agents are not wearing a uniform, they are normal people. After the agent is finished reviewing every question, he or she will tell you that you should receive a notice within the next 30 days. It actually takes 3 weeks. And this is it! Extra: You might want to take more evidence in case they ask you, but this really hasn't happened to anyone. They do ask you if it's the same evidence as the one you provided. And they do not review it. But do take a copy of your whole packet and the originals just to be on the safe side Good luck and be prepared!!! I know it is stressful and dreadful, but everything is looking great for us! Let's not panic!

Talked to her yesterday. Sorry I don't have good news although I guess every case is different. Well she lives in TJ so her case is totally different because she didn't cross illegally, so hers was very easy and straightforward. So she asked some of the people @ the consulate (people who were there for interviews, medical exams) and according to her, they punish you and make you go to another interview after. Of course you can't come back, so you can end up staying from 3 months to ten years depending on when they decide to interview you again. She mentioned the time you were illegally here has a lot to do with the time they punish you. I don't know if having a child or other things influence them not punishing you. Or exactly what determines the time they make you stay there. Or if you could avoid being punished. You would have to ask an attorney.

You should be fine. You are already at the interview stage. Unless you're marriage is a fraud, you should not be worried. I will ask my cousin how it was for her at her interview in Juarez and let you know!

The thing is, even if you marry a US Citizen, you have to provide a Waiver. With this waiver, basically you are asking the country for "forgiveness" for crossing the boarder illegally (breaking the law). They grant you this waiver IF you can prove an EXTREME hardship for your american citizen spouse if you were to leave. People think its easy, just marry a citizen and you get papers, but that is not the case. An attorney will prepare this waiver for 2-5 grand, because IT IS HARD and time consuming. Or you could wait 10 years in your country which would be the "penalty" you would have to pay for crossing illegally. Either way, it's difficult. To me, waiting for the immigration reform to pass is the easiest way because one of the things they are fighting for, is to remove the whole "extreme hardship" thing. By entering legally with a visa and marrying a US Citizen, you can adjust your status (become a permanent resident) in around 3-6 months without having to leave the country of course.

HOw did this happen? If she entered illegally this is not possible... only if she entered with a visa.
  17. I am trying to find out why we are being interviewed... ? I didn't provide taxes but I know people who did and still got the interview appointment... did you provide a job/income? Bank statements?
  18. Pattij, thank you for the feedback. Did you provide taxes on your application?
  19. Good luck on getting your approval very fast! I believe you will get it in 2 or 3 weeks!!!
