@Dariela, remember to write letters to the service center where your application is being processed.
-
@Armando5280, Tocayo gracias and likewise!
-
@Dariela, call USCIS(1-800-375-5283) and wait to speak to an operator. Ask the operator you want to place a service request because your case is beyond normal processing times. They will ask you for your receipt number so make sure to have that ready. Also keep writing emails and letters to the service center where your application is being processed.

After 14 months of waiting I finally got approved.

thanks guys.
@adol, I'm not sure but honestly don't want to. Lol!I will research that and let you know.

@adol, Dreamers are not eligible to join any branch of the armed forces, including the national guard.

@adol: Thank you! Yes, you should definitely call them a ask for a service request. Besides calling also send emails and letters to the service center where your application is being processed. Have friends, family members and acquaintances personaly write letters too asking for your case to be resolved. That's what I did as soon as I was told my case would be forwarded to a supervisor. You'll get them man.
-
@adol and everyone who replied to this post, It seems that the supervisor to whom my case was forwarded to really got things going; I was approved this morning and my card I was told, should be arriving soon. Thank you all for your kind words of support, it sure made the wait a little easier.
-
The response to my service request was: "Your concerns have been forwarded to a supervisor for review."
-
I don't have a criminal record. I have never been arrested, all I have are a couple of tickets that were taken care off. I don't know why this is taking so long.
-
I 've been keeping my hopes up these last few days. Really there is not much I can do but continue to wait and continue to nag them.
-
Why Is It Taking Soo Long ?!?

I'm on the same boat as you. I also applied on Nov. 2013 and I have yet to get a decision on my case. I've tried everything but I keep getting the same little cute message as you. I am going on 13 months now. Will be 14 months on Jan. 23. -
Congratulations!!!

I hope we all get approved soon. Its way overdue.

Going on 13 months now. Im from Texas and my application is in Nebraska. -
So December 11th came and went, I was supposed to receive a response to a RFE I had replied back to 60 some days ago. I called USCIS and asked for a service request about this issue; 4 days later I received a responsed to my service request and this is what it read: U.S. Department of Homeland Security P.O. BOX 82521 NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER LINCOLN,NE 68501 Dear Armando Suarez Gutierrez: On 12/12/2013 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following: Caller indicated they are: -- Applicant or Petitioner Attorney Name: Type of service requested: -- Outside Normal Processing Times The status of this service request is: Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I-821D / I-765 to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved. Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application. What You Can Do Please see the "Online Services" below to check the status of your case in the near future. We apologize for the delay. We hope this information is helpful to you. I don't know what else to do, it has been 13 months now and I have no concrete information regarding my case. I guess I just have to keep nagging them everyday until I get a response that's different from this.
-
I will call them. I hate to be so negative but I don't think I'll get any real helpful information. It has been like that for over a year now.
-
Thanks everyone. I have been waiting over a year to get a decision on my case. I applied on Nov.23 2012. I've been hearing that somehow people that applied on November of last year are the ones who have been waiting longer than expected, some of us over a year. I'm supposed to get a response on my RFE by Dec. 11 which is this Wednesday. I don't know what to think or expect after waiting so long.

I think you should definitely show the evidence that you opened a bank account in 09. If you have any receipts, check stubs or deposit slips from the bank that would help a lot. The school you graduated from or school district should be able to provide you with your school record. A copy of your high school diploma should help too. A letter from work would help also. If they can't make you one they maybe you can try with acquaintances of yours to help you out with that. Make sure they provide contact information, i.d., and having the letters notarized helps also. Try to gather as much evidence as possible.
-
Working on responding to the RFE they sent me. Hopefully after I send it that I will get approved.
-
Thanx guys. Hopefully I'll have some good news soon. They already sent me an email saying they received the evidence they requested on the RFE.

10 Months And Case Still Under Initial Review!!! :(
asuarez1985 replied to Mizar1's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
8 months of waiting here. All they could tell me was that they were waiting on my "security checks" to clear. Idk why, I have never been accused or charged with any crime. I even sent a clearance sheet from my local police department along with my application but still no clue on why is taking so long. I know people who applied 3-4 months ago and have already been approved. I don't understand whats going on. It's really frustrating. -
Congratulations!!!
