  1. Thank you all for the great advice. I took my behind the wheel test yesterday and passed it. I viewed a lot of videos on youtube to get an idea of what I would be asked to do. I took my written test at the Santa Ana DMV office and missed 7 questions the first time. Since I finished my first test before 4:30 and didn't pass it, they allowed me to take a second one right after and I was able to pass the second one only missing 2. My advise for those who will be going to take the written test is study your handbook. I agree with "erika020" you might be able to look over other people's tests but you'll feel more prepared if you have read the handbook. The wording on the questions can make simple questions confusing. I took my test at the Fullerton DMV office and they only took me to drive in residential areas. It took about 20 minutes, with only right and left turns, stop signs, driving in a straight line in reverse, parallel parking, merging lanes, speed limits, etc. I was nervous but thank God I passed it. Again, thanks for all the great advise.... and good luck to those who will be taking their tests soon!!!
  2. I have a few questions for those in CA who have been approved for DACA. I went to apply for my SSN and I'm waiting to receive it in the mail. I have an appointment this Wednesay to apply for my ID and take the written test. My question is, for those who already have their ID or DL do you get this for a 2 year period too? Or how long are these valid for? Also, is the written and driving test hard? Thanks for any help you provide me with!!
  3. Does This Mean Rfe...

You might. Keep checking today and daily as there might be changes. I saw this same note on mine and sure enough a day later it showed I had been sent an RFE. Good luck!
  4. Impatiently Waiting

I know exactly how you feel. I submitted my application on November 30th and was received on December 3rd. I went for my biometrics on January 3rd and my case status remained at "Initial Review" for over 5 months. At the beginning of May I began calling them directly and the first time I called they said that the office processing my case was reviewing cases from August and that I had to wait until they got to the December cases. I called each week to see how it was progressing and the first 2 weeks they said they were still processing cases from August. Until finally on the next calls I could see they were moving along. I would check online hoping and praying it would say something different. On May 29th I finally saw a change, but it was that they had sent me an RFE. My heart dropped not knowing what they were going to ask me to send and because I thought that this was only going to delay my process even more. Fortunately they only needed copies of my ID. I sent them in and would check daily to see if they had received it. Finally on June 11th they showed the receipt and said that they were reviewing once again what I had sent. I continued to check daily and finally today it shows that my applications were approved yesterday. I finally felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I would constantly read forums of people who were still waiting like me and all of them who had been approved said to be patient and to have faith. But that was definately easier said than done. I know its hard to wait specially this long but just keep praying, and keep calling them to get the latest status.
