Just wondering if you guys carry your work permit with you? I just wanna take with me to places that ask me for it, like starting a new job. But other than that Idk if I wanna carry it around bcuz I'd be scared to accidentally loose it. Idk what are everyone's thoughts?

Yes! I finally got approved after 9 months of waiting. I was told my case was being investigated for fraud, I made several service request inquiries with no response, and I even emailed Nebraska office directly and didn't get a response, but I think that's what helped me get approved. Bcuz after 2 weeks of sending them an email I got approved. I now have my red card and I'm in the process of obtaining my ssn and my license. I'll be sticking around here to help those who have questions about their case. Good luck to rest who are still waiting!!!!!

Letter From Lawyer About The Long Waiting Cases
Dreamer3oh3 posted a topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
So I got this email from my lawyer, it's basically comments from other lawyers nation wide and what they are saying about their own cases. I hope it brings you guys some comfort to know we're not alone. "Having been the liaison for NSC DACA filings, I can say that there are many DACA cases over six months old which are pending for security clearances. Some of those cases include criminal incidents and some do not. Currently NSC will not provide any estimate of when such cases will be resolved." "I called on 3 cases yesterday pending over 8 months - no criminal issues on any of these - I was told by NCSC that they are in FBI background check and nothing can be done." "I’m hoping you all learned something at the conference that can help the DACA kids whose cases have been pending forever. I have several of these cases where the kids have some municipal, juvenile, or minor criminal issue and USCIS just seems to be sitting on them. I’ve done the “beyond processing time” calls to USCIS, but the only response is “still processing” Does anybody have any brilliant ideas about how to get these cases moving?" "All, please continue to share experiences and results of strategies such as Liaison or Congressional assistance -- I've also got a DACA coming up on 8 months and got the same not-especially-helpful response from USCIS once the 6 month posted processing time was exceeded. I bet many of us on this listserv have clients in the same slow boat..." -
If You're Still Stuck In Intial Review Since 2012 Please Read!!!!

So Wednesday marks 9 months for me since I filed. ;'( And after just waiting around and around I called to make an inquiry back in Jun 07 13 I was told that I would receive something in writting within 15 days well I waited 15 days then I waited 15 BUSINESS days and nothing. I called today and was told that I couldn't make another request until Thursday. But since I hadn't received anything in writting that I should contact the Nebraska office (that's where my case is being processed) directly and that I would for sure receive a reply within 21 days and that if I DON"T then I can contact headquaters directly and that they would respond directly to me within 10 days!!!!! I know it's a long shot but hey if it gets us some answers why the heck not right??? So I'm going to include the info here and what you need to include in your email when contacting USCIS. NOTE: This only will work if you've exceeded the 6 month waiting period and if you've requested an inquiry and have NOT received anything back in written form from USCIS. Also my case is at the Nebraska office so I only have the email for the Nebraska office. So when writing your email to [email protected] it should basically look like the following: My name is _______ DOB______ I filed for the I-821D on _____ my receipt number is _________ my USCIS Alien Number is_____ and I filed back in_______ my application has exceeded the maximum processing time. So I requested a written inquiry on______ and did not receive anything in the mail. My reference number for that in quiry is _______. I'm writing to make an inquiry on my case.... So basically that's the gist. If you have any additional info you may add it but basically like I said I'm just giving you the gist of what your email needs to include. I will be sending mine out today and we'll see what happens. If you do not receive something back within 21 BUSINESS days then write the same information to this email: [email protected] -

So basically I had a job where I was working at a restaurant for 5 years but the place got sold to new owner and I got laid off bcuz they already had their own crew. So it's been a lil over a month now and I wanna start looking for another job. But I'm nervous bcuz I'm in doubt if this would hurt my DACA application. Is anyone else working and still waiting? I mean can anyone give me some advice?

Hey everyone new here. Basically my dilema is I filed back in Oct and did Biometrics in Nov and it's been 8 months now. Also back in January I discovered that USCIS had the wrong address and fixed it. In Jun I called USCIS and they said they would send me an inquiry as to where my file was, since it's been more than 6 months of the processing time. Well long story short I talked to my lawyer and they said that my case was transfered to the fraud review or something like that. I'm SUPER scared bcuz I haven't lied about anything on my file. Idk if USCIS is just saying that to scare me or what. Has anyone experienced this? or has gone thru additional review?

Don't loose hope! Some of us applied last year and it took us forever to get approved. It took me 9 months to get a decision. It's tough specially when you see people who applied later get approved. Hang in there! -
