So my friend and I filed our applications together. It's been one year since then and she has started a blog with her experiences and helpful info for other DREAMers. I promised to help spread the word about it. If you'd like to take a look (or know anyone that would) here's the link: mercurysmessage.wordpress.com Take a few minutes and send her some love. She's literally just starting off and I know she'd love to hear from any of you. Thank you for your time!

I'm currently in college but I didn't have to do that. I'm not sure exactly what the rules are where you're at. I'm sure if you asked them why they needed it they would tell you. To me, it doesn't sound too unreasonable. Perhaps it has to do with whether or not you're eligible for state funds? That's the only reason that I can come up with for why they would need it.

I got help from the IRS. The lady I spoke to in person gave me a list of places I could go to to get my taxes filed for cheap/free. (I went to the IRS to get my ITIN decommissioned. Going in person is what i definitely recommend)

Hmm, are there any groups that can help you out? Like in CA, there's CHIRLA. Is there anything like that close to you? I have a friend who just started a blog about wrote about her process. Maybe that can help you? I know she used something like CHIRLA for help on what she could use to fulfill the requirements and stuff. mercurysmessage.wordpress.com Good luck. A big thing is just don't let yourself get scammed. Theres a ton of horrid people out there trying to take advantage of people like us in need. Keep us posted!

Obamacare For Income Tax For Dreamers

This is a good question. I am worried about this too. I am in California and checked out coveredca.com/FAQs/ and saw this: "However, some individuals may be exempt from paying a penalty, including: people who would have to pay more than 8 percent of their income for health insurance people with incomes below the threshold required for filing taxes (in 2013, $9,750 for a single person and $27,100 for a married couple with two children) people who qualify for religious exemptions undocumented immigrants incarcerated individuals members of federally recognized American Indian tribes and Alaska Natives" I also gave a call to them (1800-300-1506) and they said that I did not qualify to get health care coverage and would not get fined when I filed taxes. I'm not sure if this is the same in all states. I suggest (if you live in Cali), you give them a call for your peace of mind. There will be a long wait period, but it's best to wait than to have to deal with an unexpected fine. -
When Should Or Should You Report A Discrimination
Lunera replied to Rica1993's topic in Life After Deferred Action
I once applied for a job, got told I had the job, just needed to take the drug test was all I needed to do. Then everything changed when I showed them my social security card along with the work permit card and got told "our company has been instructed not to take people whose social security card has this stipulation". It sucked but, hey nothing could be done.
