Okay so for the background information I'll give it to you as a little timeline. 11/16/15- My Work permit was returned by USPS to USCIS 11/30/15- I got the notification and called to get it sent back. They sent an email with a "wait 60 days for delievery" 01/29/16- The 60 days have passed with no new information so I called and the rep either didn't understand what I was trying to say or I dont know but I got an email saying to wait another 60 days. However, I have a job offer that obviously requires a work permit. My parents (I'm 17) want to put in their taxes so they need my social security number, which to my understanding, I'll get it when I get my permit and apply for one. Is it reasonable to call again? or are the extra 60 days normal? To be clear I did not get a notification that the permit would be arriving and I am getting it through DACA! YALL I HAVE SOME AWESOME NEWS! SO AS I SAID I CALLED AND THEIR LIKE NAH WE CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE ACCESS TO THAT KIND OF INFO. SO I SEND AN EMAIL TO THE TEXAS OFFICE AND LIKE 10MIN LATER I GOT A TEXT THAT IT WAS SENT! I JUST GOT IT ON MONDAY AND THAN YESTERDAY I WENT AN APPLIED FOR MY SOCIAL AND ITLL BE ARRIVING IN 2 WEEKS! I cant believe it guys it finally feels like im going places!

I feel that we need to update this website so here are some questions

Okay so I finally got approved for both DACA and The work permit and now I was just waiting for the card. However today I got a notification at around 12 but didnt get to see it until 10:33 pm. When I finally opened it the notification said, "On November 14, 2015, the Post Office delivered your new card for Receipt Number *********** to the address that you gave us." I run outside like a crazy person but couldnt find it. Than I check the tracking number and it said "Your item was delivered at 11:25 am on November 14, 2015 in MESQUITE, TX 75185" Great great but I live in Cicero Il! All the other stuff was delievered to the right address and I didnt change anything. My questions- Is it my fault or theres? Do I have to reapply? How long will it take to get a replacement?

Warning: you might not care haha Guys I finally did my biometrics appointment! ahhhhh! after months of waiting and frustrating calls it has finally happened! I send out that and the pictures and now its up to them! does anyone know how long its taking to get a response? btw to anyone thats just starting or is still inbetween those 6 months, dont give up!!!! on the 3th and had to make a request with the customer service lady. She said I had to wait 15 days and if I hadnt been contacted by then to call back. Does that go for buisness days only? (10) or including Saturdays? (13) Do you guys think I should call on Monday? the date I have to submit the papers is coming next month and I am super nervous!

okay so i was wondering if anyone else has done this without an appointment already set? I got a request for more evidence and thats one of two things they are asking for. The extended time they are giving me ends in early october so but i want to send it as soon as possible. What would you do in my situation? Should i not go to school one day and just do it? its so complicated im just so done with it.

Okay so I got the request for more evidence paper on the 4th of this month and all it basically wants is for me to appear at ASC to get the fingerprints and such. I was wondering if anyone else is waiting for it and if anyone knows how long I have wait? Anything really! im getting desperate

Guys i got a letter that said I needed more papers then it said I havent gone to ASC for appointment (I thought we got sceduled appointments?) and I didnt submit two pictures?

I'm getting to the breaking point. I keep counting the days the minutes 0 years 4 months 14 days or 4 months 14 days or 19 weeks 3 days or 136 days or 3,264 hours or 195,840 minutes or 11,750,400 seconds I religiously check my mailbox hoping I'll find that stupid envelope. I feel like my life is slipping away and all I'm doing is trying to hold onto a fleeting thought. I mean I qualify but theres always a what if? What if they lost my papers? What if there's suddenly a law that discontinues the program? I'm on spring break so I dont have anything to distract myself with. I think I might even be slipping into a tiny bit of depression. Sometimes I don't want to even get out of bed. Whats the point? The only country I know hates me. My home want to kick me out and I cant do anything. I can't get a good job, go to college or travel which is something I have been planning for my entire life. Will I ever get to see the Effie tower? Will I ever get to see Mexico, Australia, Africa? Am I domed to die in this small shitty town I live in?

Has anyone found a good one they would recommend? or what are your safety precautions in case of an emergency?

Cant say anything about Texas because I currently live here (Chicago) as well. However, you would need to change all your documents to show your change of address which can easily be done online by submitting it when you go through the uscis.gov website. I also imagine you will have to get your work permit stuff in order as well. I wish I could offer more information but as I have neither moved house or state I cant say much. Try calling the national call line

hey mate </3 I'm sorry this is happening to you! I wish I could help!!! I think all of us as humans kinda float until we find our calling. Keep looking and keep searching mate maybe take a roadtrip or a camping trip and just think long and hard. sure you werent able to enroll into the military but there are other options!!! Please keep us updated!!

sorry mate but if your planning on using daca to work in canada than im pretty sure your out of luck. I think they are gonna take that as abandoment and will refuse to let you back in. sorry!

I called and they gave me a date and time! Thanks for the advice theresa! I called and got transfered over to an immigration agent (scary asf) took 10 min and done call back on the 8th if i havent gotten my paper but its on the 13!!!

On the request their saying that one is so on the way but its been more than a month!

So I took the liberty to ask the question on Avvo (it was anon but im so sorry I totally violated your privacy but I just wanted to help) http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/should-i-apply-to-daca--please-read-my-case-2315261.html and one of the lawyers said " As far as DACA eligibility is concerned, as long as you did not depart the country for 90 days or more, on a single trip, you did not "interrupt" the annual physical presence required for DACA purposes. Ignore that statement "if you travel outside the United States before USCIS has determined whether to defer action in your case, you will not be considered for deferred action", since it doesn't apply to you. That is a warning only to those who have already applied for DACA and have their applications being processed, but not yet decided upon, which is obviously not your case, since you have not even applied yet."

I'm sorry honey bun but if you left after 08/15/12 (which you did) the only thing they will do is collect the fee, make you wait 3-6 months and then deny you. My friend got denied because she left on 8/18/12 and came back a day later. Don't let this stop you though! there are many types of free legal services where you could get more information such as avvo which I totally recommend. I'm so sorry X
