California Dream Act creates new hope for undocumented people across the state - Ventura County Star
Rawf replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I wish every state could follow those steps, but California is bad in term of economy.. how will that affect the state in general? -
You can't just apply with a work permit, you first have to get a social security number and the identification from the state you live in. When you get those 2 things, you can apply for a job.

I want a 2 year work permit, currently have been renewing yearly. What do?
Rawf replied to Bryan11's topic in General Discussions
Actually those who are approved before the elections will be eligible to renew their work permit. Those who did not apply on time are the ones on risk of not getting accepted. -
Silly or not, I'm sure there are thousands of men not registered there.

I remember that post, I'm pretty sure a lot of people have no idea that website exist and aren't registered in it.

There were rumors of having to sign up to qualify for the DACA, but rumor was fake. I haven't signed up and I'm not exactly sure if it is indeed required after you get approved for DACA.

Glad to hear it is just that! Your process will be back on track once they get the missing paper. It doesn't get thrown to the end of the pile

Carlos Martinez is one of the 29 people who have actually gotten deferrals

Nice to see someone being accepted showing it with pride! -
This must be a mistake LOL.

I've been doing that for the past 2 or 3 months with a credit card. I'm not sure how long it takes, but if you stay in good standards for a year I heard your credit score can be pretty high.

For anyone who already have taken their biometrics test, what should we expect?
Rawf replied to Bee1989's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
When I went to ask a few questions the security person was very friendly and the rest also looked friendly. Glad you didn't have any problems! Now it is time to wait -
Very interesting, I was wondering what the numbers meant or if they were just random. Thank you for the info!

That's unfortunate, if you had a feeling about that happening you should of have gathered more documents to send along. But now, just follow the instructions on what they need and try backing everything up.

NFL should be humiliated at blown call that cost Packers a victory

Whats NFL? -
Hi Harikatuzun, Some states let you go to college without being legal in the country and pay in-state tuition. I myself enrolled and paying in-state tuition without any issues. Before I started working my parents used to pay for college, but since I'm working I pay for it myself. I take as many classes as I can afford which is 2 to 4 classes depending on the credits. I wish we could have financial aid, it would make things so much easier. I'm thinking student bank loans will be able to use it after you get the ssn, the tricky part would be not letting them know about your 2 years work permit as that might get you denied.
-
I'm actually hired by an agency, but once I get the paper work done I will be able to work directly for the company (hopefully). But if I can find a better paying job to live and afford college I will switch without thinking about it.

Apparently the Gangnam style is winning. I vote for Gangname Style as well! The elevator scene

Good things come to those who wait, no matter how long or how hard it is to wait -
I have moved the thread to a more suited section of the forum.

Yup, and it's clear no one would get advance parole to go study somewhere else. Advance Parole is only for emergency cases and going to college in a different country isn't considered an emergency case
