Hmm... that's weird. I wonder if it was a false update, but you said you called them previously and they said you were denied? Give them a call on Friday, that will be the 15th day. Tell them you didn't receive the letters and that you want to put in a Service Request.
-
I was wondering about this earlier. I think he was.

Well, it can only really be two things that the respond with. Either your case requires additional review, a.k.a. your case is still waiting to be reviewed, or that your background check still hasn't cleared.
-
I doubt it will slow down the process. All they do is check the status of the case and then mail you a letter telling you why it's taking longer to process. I sent back my sister's RFE response a month ago. I had contact through e-mail with the California Service Center when we sent back the RFE response and they said that we should hear a response within 30 days. We didn't, so I replied in the e-mail asking to follow up on the status of her case. Now I'm just waiting to see what they say.

Vermont is the busiest of the four Service Centers.
-
If your case is still waiting on the background check to clear, doing a Service Request won't speed it up. Not sure what happens if you submit a Service Request if your case is still just waiting to be reviewed.
-
Oh, so you didn't actually do a Service Request.

Biometrics Appointment Step by Step and what to Expect !
JoseG replied to Luna's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Did you fill out the applications yourself? The I-765 is the application for the EAD (work permit) After the Biometrics, you just have to wait for an approval/denial/RFE. -
Each applicant submits different evidence, mistakes on the application, some background checks take longer than others, some case workers work faster than others. All of those things affect the response time.
-
What do you mean denied?
-
After 6 months you can inquire about your case by doing a Service Request. The Service Center will send you a letter telling you what is causing the hold up on your case.

A Service Request is when USCIS checks the status of your case. Since you made one for the "exceeded processing time", you should get a letter in the mail within 15 days explaining why you haven't received a decision yet. It will either be because your background check still hasn't cleared, or your case is still waiting to be reviewed.

Online you won' see any changes from the time you get the Receipt letters, until you are approved/RFE.

What Are Some Things That Even After Being Daca Approved We Won't Be Able To Do?
JoseG replied to Rickyerique's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Obvious ones, can't vote, can't join the military. Can't apply for government jobs or some city jobs that require U.S. Citizenship. Some people still won't be able to drive or get an ID. It's possible to travel outside of the U.S. For example, those who are approved for DACA while under 18, won't accrue Unlawful Presence, therefore they are able to travel using AP without any trouble. It might also be possible for the rest of us, but the rules are still kinda foggy. -
USCIS will send a notice to the service center that is processing your case. The service center will then look into the status of your application and they will mail you a letter within 15 days telling you what's the hold up with your case. It can either be two things, your case still isn't under review with an officer, or they're doing an extensive background check.

I submitted the basic stuff, school records, immunization records, etc. from the date I came to the U.S. up until 2009. For 3 years, from 2009-2012 I submitted basically just paypal receipts and online purchase receipts that I was sent to my e-mail. I also sent in some dated photographs and facebook check-ins. My friend received an RFE for continuous residence and I told him to send in dated photographs and facebook check-ins along with some affidavits, and he was approved a week later after they received his RFE response. So they seem to work.

Hola A Todos!! Last Update In Your Case!!
JoseG replied to latinagirl's topic in General Discussions
She's talking about the LUD, Last Update Date. That date will usually always be when they sent you the Biometrics appointment letter. It won't change until the day you're approved. -
