821 & I765 Processing Time!?
JoseG replied to MusicalHooligan91's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
That is correct. The estimated processing time for the I-821D application is 4-6 months. Usually USCIS approves both the I-821D and I-765 the same day, but if they don't, USCIS has 90 days to approve the I-765, since that is the processing time for the I-765 application and we aren't eligible for the I-765 until our I-821D is approved. Like I said, that isn't always the case, usually both applications are approved during the same day. -
Source? I'm assuming whoever told you this said that the deadline was the end of February because that's the date the I-821D form expires. That doesn't mean the program DACA will expire that date. That just means that's the date when the application expires and it can be revised or updated, or stay the same. As you can see, the application for Advance Parole expired a long time ago, yet it is still being used because it wasn't updated.

It will depend on how busy the office is. Like Rawf said, some will let you, other's won't.

Has Anyone Received Any Daca Notice After A Service Request?
JoseG replied to srs's topic in General Discussions
I know two friends who were approved today and they applied early August. USCIS is still working on a lot of August applications. A service Request won't help much if your case isn't past the expected processing time for DACA which is 4-6 months. If you submit a Service Request before that, they will just tell you that your application is still within the expected processing time and if you don't hear anything by the time the 6 months are over, to contact them again. -
How Long Is It Taking For Your Ead Cards To Arrive?
JoseG replied to Lebam's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
The EAD takes about a week to arrive after you're approved. After you apply for an SSN, the number isn't generated right away. The SSA first has to verify your information, which doesn't take long. You'll probably be assigned a number after 3 days. You can call the SSA and ask if you have been assigned a number, and if you have, you can go to the SSA office and get a printout of your number, or you can just wait 7-14 days to get the SSN in the mail. -
Congratulations.

USCIS just received sister's RFE response. Hopefully they make a decision soon.
-
My brother also had a RFE for proof of education. He's enrolled in a GED program and had initially send proof and he's getting another RFE.

Yes. USCIS doesn't actually look over your evidence until AFTER you go in for your Biometrics, they just make sure that you sent in the correct forms and that you sent in the $465. After you go in for Biometrics, USCIS will review your background check and your evidence, then they will make a decision on your case.

It's taking longer because you didn't file an I-765 application by itself, you don't qualify for an EAD card until you are approved for DACA (I-821D) We sent 2 applications. USCIS first has to look over our I-821D evidence to make sure that we qualify for Deferred Action before we are eligible for an EAD.

Congratulations.

Yes, you can apply for both the ID and DL at the same time. It's a good idea to do that so that you have an ID in the mean time while you have your driving permit.
-
Yes, each case is different some are easier and fast than others, but for those who's case is more difficult, the wait can take up to 4-6 months and in between that time they can't do much but wait for a decision.
-
Pretty much, that's the expected processing time given by USCIS for DACA applications, so you can't do anything but wait for a decision during that time frame.
-
There is no specific time, just like there is no specific time until you get approved. You can be waiting for 5 months and still be RFEd.
-
The 90 days that people are confused about is the expected processing time for the I-765 application. If you qualified and were to file a I-765 application by itself, USCIS would have 90 days to give you a response to your application. This doesn't apply to us because we filed the I-765 application based on our I-821D. That means that we don't qualify for the I-765 until our I-821D is approved, and the expected processing time for the I-821D is 4-6 months. In other words, you need to wait until your I-821D is approved before the 90 day processing time for the I-765 begins.

How Long Does It Take For Your Social !?
JoseG replied to Ronny17's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Usually it takes 7-14 days to arrive in the mail. I went to apply on a Friday, the 21st of December, then I went back to the SSA the 27th to get a printout and that's the same day they had shipped the card to me. -
I'm assuming you're talking about the education requirement for the Dream Act? I'm not sure, but I believe one of the possible options was to have received a certificate from a Vocational School.
-
Welcome to the forum. Remember though, just like there have been people who applied after you get approved, there are also many who applied before you still waiting for a response.
-
Don't forget to send back the blue paper that came with the RFE notice.

Question On Proof Of Presence On June 15, 2012
JoseG replied to dahlia's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
It doesn't have to be exactly on June 15. If you sent something dated close to June 15 they will let it slide. -
Congratulations.

He is talking about the fact that he got an RFE on December 17 instead of getting approved.
