looking back on instructions for I-821D
JoseG replied to mayra's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
They might have overlooked something. I've heard of people getting RFE's for time periods that their school transcripts should have covered. Don't worry, once you get the RFE, you just have to send them what they ask for and you will get approved. -

How to obtain a Social Security Number after DACA Approval

Yes, there have been some locations that don't allow walk-ins, but the majority do. It can't hurt to try. If they don't want to let her in, tell the guard that she won't have a ride on her appointment date and that she came from far away.

How long after Biometrics to get approved?
JoseG replied to Rickyerique's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
The Case Status doesn't change until you get approved/denied or RFE. It will stay on Intial Review from the time you get the two I-797C Receipts, to the time you get approved. -
They wont tell you anything new. They will ask you for your case number, then look it up and tell you that your case is in Initial Review. They will tell you that the estimated processing time for the I-821D is 4-6 months and to give them a call back if you don't hear anything by then. The I-765 does have a 90 day processing time, but, we didn't file the I-765 by itself because obviously we don't qualify for it without DACA. We first need to be approved on the I-821D, which has the 4-6 month processing time before the 90 day processing time starts for the I-765.

I took my sister. Parents aren't required to attend.

It's quite easy. All they ask is if you are a U.S. Citizen. Of course we must say no. Then they will ask you for proof of Residence or Legal Presence. Our Legal Presence document can be a copy of our DACA approval letter and EAD. Then you're on your way.

anyone get the form I-797C and have gone to their biometric
JoseG replied to jessiam89's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Everyone gets the same Biometrics notice with an assigned location and scheduled date and time. All you have to do is take your Biometrics letter and an ID with your picture and name on it, like passport, matricula consular etc. and they will take your fringerprints, a photo and your signature. That is all. -
Yes $465 is the correct amount.

How long after Biometrics to get approved?

Your status will stay on initial review until you are approved or they send you an RFE. There's nothing you can do but wait. -
I know you can use a state issued ID, not sure about the EAD. Try searching on the TSA website.
-
You have to wait until you get the receipts in the mail to check your case online. Some people haven't been able to check their case at all. Its an error of the USCIS website. No you can't do a walk-in without your Biometrics appointment letter.

How to obtain a Social Security Number after DACA Approval
JoseG replied to JoseG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
You can go in to apply for an SSN once you have your EAD. -
Did you get two I-797C Receipts in the mail before you got your Biometrics appointment letter or just one?
-
You basically just wait for an approval/denial or RFE. You can sign up for Case Status Updates on the USCIS website so that you can be notified by text or e-mail when there is a decision on your case. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

For the continuous residence I sent in my high school transcript and online purchase receipts from paypal and ebay that have my name, address, e-mail and date of purchase.

I haven't been approved yet but I can answer some of these questions. 1) The EAD cards have the word "Category" on them, and under "Category" it will have C33, that means that we are DACA applicants. 3) The EAD doesn't take long to arrive after USPS has picked it up. Your online case status will update to "USPS has reported that they have picked up your card" or something along those lines. Not everyone will get this message. After that, you can call USCIS and they will be able to give you a tracking number, but the EAD won't take long to get to your house. 4) When filling out a job application, it won't ask you for immigration status. It will only ask if you are legally allowed to work in the United States. After you are hired, the employer may ask for proof of legal employment in which you just have to show your EAD and SSN.

Yeah, anything you can get.

Did you ever buy things online? If you did, check your e-mails for receipts. Look for any letters that have your name and address on them or utility bills.

How to obtain a Social Security Number after DACA Approval
JoseG replied to JoseG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
The instructions don't state anything about your parents having to go with you. The only thing it says is that if you are under 18 years old, you must write down their Social Security Numbers on the application, unless they don't have one assigned to them. Other than that, you can sign the application yourself if you want. -
For dreamers that have gotten accepted..how much info is enough for last 5 yrs
JoseG replied to orozcomari's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I haven't been approved, but I think that should be good enough. USCIS states that you should send in a minimum of one document per year. Of course, it will depend how much evidence those documents can provide. -
Drivers License/State ID (California)
JoseG replied to C_Air23's topic in Life After Deferred Action
DMV doesn't provide or rent vehicles. If you can't get a hold of one, a possible solution would be to call a nearby driving school and they can lend you a car. They will pick you up from your house and drive you to the DMV where you will take the test, then they will drop you off again at your house. Just search "driving schools" on google and call one near you.
