Look over the forms, fill out as much as you can. If there is something you don't understand, search the forums or online, I'm sure someone has already asked it. http://www.uscis.gov...000082ca60aRCRD Form I-821D http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD Form I-765 http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD Form I-765WS http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD Form G-1145 http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=d9056d4e88ac3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=c88fd1eb6dc43210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD If you know you have a clean record and an easy case, there is no need for an attorney, they will just have the paralegal fill it out, and at this point, with the process being as new as it is, we probably know just as much as they do. Everything you need to know is on the USCIS website. Of course, if you don't feel comfortable or capable of doing it by yourself, there is nothing wrong with getting help from an attorney.

Keep in mind that 80,000 applications were submitted during the first month between August 15 - September 15! By the end of September, there were only about 4,600 applications approved, that leaves about 75,400 people from August 15- September 15 that still have not received a response. By October 12, there were a total of 180,000 applications that were submitted. That means that only about 2.5% of the applications submitted have been approved.

Very good points JoseG, number of applicants highly increases each day. Note: USCIS also has to deal with different cases non related to DACA as well.
-
Also as more DREAMERS see other DREAMERS get approved for DACA they'll feel confident in applying, therefore delaying the time for others that are in the system..,

As time passes by, this process is going to start taking longer. I'd give it another week.

ANYBODY APPROVED WITH A MISDEMEANOR?
JoseG replied to elva816's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
USCIS said it won't be considering minor traffic violations like driving without a Drivers License as non-significant misdemeanors. -
What people?

If your application is taking longer to get approved, read this

Yeah, that interview was posted on that website back in 2007, and the adjudicator says he worked at USCIS 4 years prior to that, so this information is over 9 years old. I'm sure many things have changed since then. -
No. Pretty much everyone will be getting a Biometrics appointment once your Application is routed to a Service Center for processing. After the Biometrics appointment is when an adjudicator will start looking over your application, background check and evidence. If the adjudicator wants to see more evidence, he will send you an RFE (Request for Evidence) If something came up during the background check, it will be sent to a different group of people to look over it and verify whether that was you or if it was someone else. Or you will simply be approved if you meet all of the guidelines and have submitted evidence to support it.

Career politician Jeff Flake reversed his position on the DREAM Act; after he ... - Tucson Citizen

You just can't trust some of these Politicians, they will always say what the people want to hear to get elected. -
There could be many different factors that we aren't aware of. One possible factor is maybe something came up during the background check that needs to be investigated. We just don't know why some cases take longer than others.
-
All they are going to do is take your fingerprints, signature, and a picture of your face for the EAD, so you dont have to dress a certain way.
-
I guess so. I just thought that since the A# number will be on the EAD that it was more an official number like the one on the Green Card. I had an I-94 but I lost it....anyways I doubt they would take it since I got it 14 years ago.
-
It asks for your Alien Registration Number or I-94 Number. Isn't our A# an Alien Registration Number? If that's the case, I wonder why someone with an I-94 card can apply since they are here with just a temporary VISA. We actually would have a longer allowed time to stay of 2 years.

I'm not sure. Here in California there is something called a " Personal Firearms Eligibility Check" done by the California Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms which runs a check on you and tells you if you are eligible to purchase a firearm. You should see if there is something like that in your state.
-
No, we won't be able to join any branch of the military with DACA. You need to be a Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen to be able to join.

If you are planning on applying for Advance Parole, I recommend you talk to an immigration attorney first. It is clearly stated by USCIS that you can be denied re-entry into the U.S. even with Advance Parole if you have accrued Unlawful Presence. Traveling to Alaska or Hawaii is the same as traveling within the continental U.S. as they are part of the 50 states after all. As long as you don't stop in Canada to change flights on the way to Alaska, you should be fine. You only need a state-issued ID.
-
To sign up for text or e-mail status updates, you need to first go to the USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do and click on Sign-Up for Case Updates. Once you have created your account, you must add your Receipt Numbers to your account by clicking on "Add a Case to Your Portfolio" After you have added both of your Receipt Numbers, you need to click the box to the left of them under "Select" then click on E-mail Alert On and Mobile Alert On. You should then be notified by e-mail and text when there is an update to your account, but many people have reported that they have not received an e-mail notification, just a text.

Affidavits wouldn't work to prove that he came before the age of 16. He would need medical records, school records, travel records. The photographs would need to clearly show that he was inside of the U.S. for Ex. Inside a theme park, etc.

How long to receive acceptence text or email!
JoseG replied to sanchez05's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Not everyone that filled out the G-1145 form got an e-mail or text. She should be getting the I-797C receipts in the mail this week. -
The ASCs don't seem to post their phone numbers anywhere. If you aren't able to make it to your Biometrics appointment, don't worry. You won't be in any trouble, you can go in after the appointment date. I suggest calling the USCIS hotline and asking them about the issue. 1-800-375-5283

No there are not. At the Biometrics appointment the only thing that they do is get all 10 of your fingerprints, take a photo of you and get your signature.
-
I wouldn't be able to answer about your situation with the 245-I, but welcome to the forums.
