How Long Does It Take To Receive Ssn After Applying For It.
JoseG replied to Juan1414's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
That will depend on what your SSN receipt says. If it says that you should receive it within 2 weeks, then it usually takes 1 week. If it says you should receive it within 4 weeks, it will probably take the whole 4 weeks. -
Yes, if they're taken in some place that's recognizable within the U.S.

No, I don't. USCIS doesn't request that you send in any paperwork or evidence for the I-765 application aside from the I-765WS, so I don't know what can cause the I-765 to be held up.
-
In the majority of cases, the I-765 is approved first, then the I-821D is approved within a few hours of that. In this case, If your I-821D was approved first, USCIS has up to 90 days to review and give a decision on your I-765 application. That doesn't mean it will take 3 months to get a decision on your I-765, but that's how long it can take.

Sometimes, you have to prove how effective those GED classes are at helping people pass the EXAM, or something to that effect. I don't remember exactly where I read it.

Arrested For Felony Never Convicted?
JoseG replied to cambriz's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I'm not sure about the felony thing, but part 7 of form I-821D is there in case you need more space to write down more information. If you don't need it, just leave it blank. -
Congrats.

Sent An R.f.e How Long Will It Take Before I Hear Anything????
JoseG replied to TheGame1990's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Okay, because you confused me by saying that you sent out your 2nd RFE, when you were only issued one. -
The EAD is your proof that you're legally allowed to work in the United States, you'll also need your Social Security Number.

About To Hit The 11Th Month Waiting Period...losing All Hope. :(
JoseG replied to Mizar1's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Your lawyer is right. If you filed a Service Request, you have to wait up to 15 days to receive the response. There are other steps you can do, but many people have already tried them and have not have much success. If you're application is still waiting to be reviewed or waiting on a background check, nothing you do can speed it up since there isn't a set time to when our applications have to be reviewed. -
How Do You Fill Out A Fafsa Application Once You've Been Accepted To Dream Act?
JoseG replied to lmorales.snc1's topic in Dream Lounge
FAFSA is only available to U.S. Citizens and eligible Non-U.S. Citizens. We do not qualify for FAFSA under DACA. http://studentaid.ed.gov/eligibility/non-us-citizens You can apply for Financial aid from the state of California, which is the CA Dream Act. -
Has Anyone Gotten Rejected After They Took Their Biometrics?
JoseG replied to Axxis's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
By rejected, do you mean when your applications are returned back to you because they're incomplete? Then no. Applications are rejected at the lockbox that you first mail them to. -
Each individuals case is different. Even though you guys sent the same evidence, your names aren't the same, so one person might take longer for their background checks to clear, so the applications don't always move along together.

If they don't have Citizenship or Permanent Resident requirement, sure you can. You can work anywhere that doesn't require those two things. No reason why it would be unsafe.

Questions About California Drivers License And Id
JoseG replied to sabyna_10's topic in Life After Deferred Action
Based on the CA DMV website, your ID and DL will be valid for the same time that your EAD was issued. This means that the ID and DL will be valid for 2 years. This isn't the case for everyone. Some people, like myself, got a full term, which is a 6 year ID and 5 year DL. It's unknown for sure what causes this, but the general consensus is that this has to do with the way the worker inputs your information into his computer when you go to apply. -
We are not Permanent Residents, we are deferred from deportation for only 2 years, so there is nothing permanent about our status. We don't even really have a status, just legal presence for 2 years. Are there any other options?
-
Oh. It might just be the same thing as additional review, that's what most of these cases that have taken over 3 months are probably stuck in.
