So, FIU is the only school in the entire state to allow students with deferred action to pay in state tuition.

Hello all - I wanted to ask you a couple of questions, and am hoping for some feedback (please keep in mind that this only applies to individuals that meet USCIS requirements for Deferred Action): Do you qualify for DACA, but have not applied due to financial circumstances? Do you know anyone that has not applied to DACA due to the above mentioned circumstances? The reason for these questions is basically to gauge interest in any form of financial aid to assist with DACA filing expenses. This only applies to individuals that have not applied to DACA, and also that have graduated High School and would like to pursue/are pursuing higher education. Your answers are greatly appreciated. Regards, Santiago

I Have A Question About The Dream Act College Requirements
satiro posted a topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
hello, I have been doing some research about the dream act and have a question. For one to receive a green card after 6 years it says you need two years of college right? Some documents say that you just need a degree or at least two years in college, or two years towards a bachelor or higher degree. So what I am trying to figure out is if one were to do a two year college and get a associates degree would that qualify for that? Some say you just need two years (with or without a degree). But some only say that you need two years towards a bachelor or higher. If you know the answer to my question please let me know. Thank you -

As per News.FIU.edu (Click for story) FIU is the first public university in Florida to offer in-state tuition to students who have qualified for Deferred Action. Before this decision was made this spring, local undocumented students had to pay out-of-state tuition. Thanks to the decision, DACAmented students will only have to pay approximately one-third of the price of out-of-state tuition... Therefore, if you live in FL, and are DACAmented, Get Educated! DO ANY OF YOU KNOW HOW IS THE PROCESS FOR APPLIYING TO A 4-YR COLLEGE DIFFERENT IF YOU ARE IN THE DEFERRED ACTION THAN IF YOU ARE A LEGAL CITIZEN/RESIDENT?

I'm currently a freshman in college and I want to further my education, but unfortunately college is expensive. So I'm asking if anyone knows where to get financial help like can we apply for FAFSA? And I wanted to join the military to pay for college, but I was told you had to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for financial aid? Is that true? I also heard of MALDEF but most of their scholarships are for people in California and with states with a mass of Hispanic population. Any Help?

Hey Dreamers! As our opportunities begin to grow with deferred action, I was wondering if any of you are high school seniors or are planning to pursue a college degree. I know we can't get federal financial aid, but can we qualify for work study programs or in-state tuition? What do you all plan to do to offset the cost of an inevitably high tuition rate?
