Hi, my name is Jose, before anything Id like to congratulate everyone who has been approved and are currently enjoying the benefits of having a good social security number. Here I go, I applied for the deferred action and Thanks to God i was approved, I then went and got my bio-metrics done, the whole process was quick and smooth. After i got my work permit i went to the social security office and applied for a social security number which i also received with no problem. Last month on June 18th i went to the DMV presented my social and my work permit and they allowed me to take my written test(which i passed). after taking my written test and passing it i made an appointment to take my behind the wheel test a week after, and i also passed that one with no problem. The Dmv lady at the window gave me my temporary drivers license and told me i would be receiving my drivers license card with in 2-3 weeks. its been 3 weeks and i haven't got it yet, yesterday i called the dmv and they told me that my Drivers license has not been approved yet, they said they still have to verify my legal status, they have to verify it and make sure everything is legit, why? i dont know. she then went on to say that it could take 2 weeks, or 6 months for that to happen and that in some cases, it could take up to a year!!! HELP! has this happened to anyone else? or do you know of someone whos going through it or happened to them? if so how long did it take for them to get it? help please!
