Anyone still trying to renew despite the court challenges?
-
Hi, my DACA is set to expire November 14, 2018. The usual advice was to apply 120 days before. I have heard conflicting advice. Should I be reapplying now even though I am 10 months before my expiration date? My mom has heard of others with a November 2018 expiration reapplying now and I was shocked. What do I do?

Has anyone or does anyone know if someone was approved for a renewal for DACA. After you were approved with an expunged DUI the first time?

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum. The reason why I decided to join was because I tried renewing my DL via mail as instructed on the letter I received. As I'm sure you all know, all DACA receipts who have a CA DL must renew every 2yrs when you receive you DACA renewal. Well After not receiving a new DL via mail and because my DL was expiring on 3/11/2017 I decided to call the DMV and ask them if they had received it. They didn't! The person on the phone said they had not received anything! This sent me into panic mode. I made an appointment for the fallowing day(today). When I went into the DMV I explained I had to renew my license because of DACA I showed them my Employment Permit as proof of my legal presence. I thought it would be simple like the two times prior. Normal you go in and show them proof and they give you a interim license while you wait about two weeks before getting the new one in the mail. Well this time it was different. I was told I had to pay $33 for a new one, take an new picture, and since it was my 5th year with the DL I had to take a renewal test (yes the written test again!). Ok no problem I said this is standard for anyone who has to renew after 5yrs. But what really upset me is that in the letter I received non of this was instructed! Had I not gone in or called the DMV I would still be waiting for the a DL that was never going to come. With the way things are under this presidency I knew that I couldn't risk driving not one day without my license! I highly recommend that anyone who has to renew their DL do so at the DMV! I hope this was helpful

DWI/DUI, can i still have my DACA renewed?
FutureofUS posted a topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Hello my fellow DREAMERS, I want to start off by sincerely apologizing to everyone out there for making a dumb mistake when I was granted such a blessing with the DACA program. I don't think you want to hear my story of how I got charged with the DWI, so I will say this. My criminal defense lawyer has told me that it will be difficult to have the case dismissed, and I will probably have to do probation. I think this means that I will be convicted of a DWI on my record? Can I still be eligible for the renewal? I was granted DACA first in 8/22/13 and renewed it on 7/21/15 and it is set to expire in 7/20/17. This will be my second renewal, but this time I will most likely have a DWI conviction on my record. I am graduating next week with my master's in accounting and will be sitting for the CPA exam in January. I have a full offer lined up for me in July 2017 at a big 4 accounting firm. I really need this DACA renewal... I had my life set until I made a stupid mistake of driving while intoxicated... Please help me. I am scared of applying and being denied then having the possibility of being deported. -

I haven't been on here in a LONG while but the last time I was everyone was very helpful. I thought maybe you guys could give me some advice or input. I sent my renewal paperwork and they received it on Nov 10, 2014 I received the letters showing that they have everything and are reviewing my case then I received my Biometric letter so I went to do my Biometrics I don't recall the date but I believe it was on Jan 10 ish around that time. It's now March 7th 2015 and I haven't gotten any letters or updates online I've even called and reached out to their other department to try and push my paperwork up because my card is going to expire on the 17th of march and I'm going to lose my job. I got the union at my work involved and they are going to meet with an immigration lawyer to try and help but any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys... I'm sharing this in case someone needs it and doesn't know of it. I'm missing a few pages from the copies I had made when I first applied and I didnt want to take the risk. This form basically allows you to request copies of your original applications and other documents uscis may have. So, if you're missing something and still have time to wait on these papers, apply! It unfortunately takes about 4 weeks to get them mailed to you but they definitely do. Has anybody done this? Hope this helps! http://www.weownthedream.org/library/attachment.252102 http://www.uscis.gov/g-639

Helpful General Renew Guidelines And A Question About Renewing I-765
punnysang posted a topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Hello! I haven't been here in awhile.. Been busy since approval! Now it is time for those of you who got approved early to RENEW! 120 days before your last approval expires. Mine expires on 12/12/2014 so I'm starting today to fill out the forms. Luckily, we are exempted from filling out all of those tedious portions and proof that we had to submit for initial review!! Hallelujah!! As some of you already know, the renewal form/directions are different (YAY we don't have to fill a bunch of sections ) It is such a rip off though, I've got to say that we have to pay that darned $465 dollars... AGAIN. Those of you who are starting the renewal process, I found this link helpful, to just double check that you are doing things right on the I821D form: http://www.dreamersare.us/2014/06/completed-latest-uscis-form-i-821d.html I have a question about Item 15 on I-765 (This is a question about RENEWAL of the work permit) 15. Current Immigration Status (visitor, student, etc) Do I put 'Approved for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals' or 'unlawful status' or 'none' as before (when I first applied for it I had put 'none')??? Thanks for reading and I hope you guys find my link helpful! <3
