Probation for DWI and I need to renew DACA
GoCoogs713 posted a topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Hi everyone I'm new to this and this is my first time posting. I've been convicted with a class b misdeamnor for petty theft when I was 17. I've been approved every time since DACA first started in 2012. 22 now and I'm currently on probation for a DWI case(significant offense) which ends on 11/17. My DACA expires on 7/17 and I would like to get some feedback on how I should go about my situation. Has anyone like me ever been on probation for DWI and been approved for DACA? Should I apply while on probation? Also I'm graduating from UH in the Fall with my BA in Computer Information Systems and my plan B was to move back to MX and persue my professional career with IBM or Accenture from there IF I cannot renew my DACA. Thanks for listening any feedback is greatly appreciated. -
My DACA EAD is expired, but I still have a valid CA DL that's not printed saying "not for federal use" or any other such remarks. My girlfriend is graduating from Air Force basic training in Texas (Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio) and I was thinking of flying over driving, but am hesitant due to my legal status. It is my understanding that my CA DL should be enough, but I know it's trickier in Texas with immigration. I had to provide my DL info to the Air Force base to get clearance inside the base for the graduation and was granted clearance. Not sure if that makes any difference or not. My only other option is driving over the top of the state into Oklahoma and back down into Texas and back the same way to avoid any check point, but I also know that Texas has roving patrols even way in the interior and I feel like driving alone in a car with CA plates might be suspicious to them. Any insight would be helpful, I really want to see my girlfriend before she goes into the second phase which is Tech School.

Hello Everyone, First off I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year, I hope your holidays went well. I am writing this post to express my frustration with the wait I've had to endure this past 13 months. I applied for DACA on Nov. 23, 2012 and till this day I haven't received a decision on my case. I have made several service requests, I've sent several emails, tried getting help from my senator, I responded to and R.F.E and still nothing. I reside in Texas and my application is being processed in Nebraska, wtf?! Are any of you still waiting after a year for a decision on their case? Do you live in Texas or any neighboring states and you have you're application being processed in Nebraska or Delaware? If so, what are you doing in regards to the long processing time besides waiting? Is there anything else we can do but wait and hope to get our case resolved? I don't understand why this is taking so long. I know people who applied in 2013 many months after me and received their papers within about 4-5 months. In this year of waiting I turned down better paying jobs including outside my state. I don't know what to do anymore this situation really sucks.

Perhaps this has been answer before somewhere on here but im pretty tired to check at this time of the night I have 2 questions to everyone that lives in Texas and already got their I.D. or DL. How old do you have to be to get your I.D.? (I read somewhere on the web that you have to be at least 15) is that true? & what are the things you have to take with you when you go to get your I.D.? thanks in advance

Adult Driver Education Certificate vs. Permit
REPutation posted a topic in Life After Deferred Action
So after going back and forth to the TEXAS DMV, to make an appointment for my permit test, they informed me that I must do an adult driver education and safety course, online preferably. This is a must for all 18 through 24 year olds! But I'm still confused. Once I finish, I will receive a "certificate" will that be my permit to legally operate a vehical? http://www.texasadultdriver.com/- 3 replies
