Vacationing close to the Mexico/US border HELP!

Recommended Posts

I have a question, need different opinions... I might be going to Mission, Texas (the house I am going to is like one mile away from the border) for vacations in 2 weeks I was granted deferred action and all but to get there I have to cross the Boarder Patrol CheckPoint and my uncle said that after the border it is 100 miles after you cross it that it becomes the US territory... So I was wondering if I would get in trouble if not what documentation would I show to prove that I am in the US legally.. Help

As long as you are IN the US, you have to have with you an ID, your EAD and the DACA acceptance letter (can be a copy).

As long as you show your ID, I don't think the rest will be really needed.. but take it just in case and hope you have an awesome trip.

or you flying? driving?

if you are driving, as along as you stay on the 281 freeway through south texas then you're still in the US and have nothing to worry about. passing through a CBP checkpoint isnt a big deal. just make sure that you have your ID, EAD, SSN, and your DACA letters, just in case they have any questions.
