I spoke to a representative and she asked me for my case number... that means she looked it up on the computer... ect! did you talk to someone or was it a machine? representative
Rawf 336 Posted December 16, 2012 They don't usually tell you an exact date your application will be looked at. Confirm that the representative told you about your application being looked at on February 27th, or was that just an estimate?

Rawf 336 Posted December 17, 2012 This is so confusing, not even the operators on the phone have such information. But anything is possible. 1 Rh_ny reacted to this
Sinae 21 Posted December 17, 2012 My case is in vermont, too, and I called on Friday evening because I just thought that I'll check the case status with a USCIS representive. That kind of information was not given to me. The representative said that he could see my case is under the initial review. I doubt the exact date of one's case review can be given by any representative over the phone, nor a representative be able to see that kind of information. The reason being, my brother's birth day was incorrect on the i821D receipt and I asked the representative if he could see the order I requested for the information change, he said he can't see and isn't allowed to be able to see that kind of information, so he had to transfer me to a different phone line for the information detail check. So I don't if that review date you were given was correct. After all, the phone representative you talked over the phone isn't the officer who is in charge of your case review. pswa83 302 Posted December 17, 2012 honestly, i think it's a little fishy. as bad as that sounds. i mean, everyone who has called knows that getting an answer, let alone, a straight answer is hard enough but be given the "exact" date on which your case is going to be reviewed sounds a little too good to be true. every time i have called, whether for DACA or for my I-130, i've always been told to wait 15 days or 30 days or 45 days but have never been given an exact date. if that were the case, i would LOVE to be told when a visa number will be available for me so i can adjust my status. LMAO 1 Gino10 reacted to this

JoseG 383 Posted December 17, 2012 Representatives can't do much besides look up your case on the USCIS website and file a service request. They most likely just gave you an estimate. When did you send in your application?

JoseG 383 Posted December 18, 2012 I sent it on August 17. February marks 6 months from August. Like I said, he probably just gave you an estimate from the 4-6 month processing time. 1 Wisedevil22 reacted to this
dennis8648 6 Posted December 19, 2012 When dealing with Immigration its best never to get your hopes up what i always do is, if they tell me something is going to come or happen in 3 months i assume that means 4-5 months always be patient and just overestimate so you wont get you hopes up, when dealing with these people it can go both ways these dates are never that acurate you might even hear from them before that, it all depends on how many cases are ahead of you.. good luck. hope things go well 2 pswa83 and Wisedevil22 reacted to this
