arcane 30 Posted January 5, 2013 Youths who are granted DACA can apply for “advance parole,” authorization from USCIS to travel outside the US and return. To apply for advance parole, you can submit an I-131 form to USCIS. You must submit a copy of a photo ID with your picture, name, and date of birth (such as your work permit, passport, or driver’s license) and a copy of the documentation of your immigration status (which can be your work permit). With the form you must also submit a money order for $360, made out to “US Department of Homeland Security.” The packet then should be mailed to the Chicago USCIS lockbox: USCIS P.O. Box 5757 Chicago, IL 60680-5757 Whatever you do, do not travel outside the US unless you get advance parole. Even if you received DACA, you will not be allowed to reenter the US if you do not have advance parole. In other words, you could end up self-deporting unless USCIS approves your I-131. source: http://dreamrelief.org/how-to-apply-...travel-abroad/

Rawf 336 Posted January 5, 2013 People are saying that even after them granting you advance parole you can still be denied entry is that true? That is true Jay, you will be on the hands of whoever reviews your documents at the airport. Personally, I would only leave the US if it was a family emergency. But by all means, don't get discouraged. You can always consult with an immigration attorney to see which options you have.
arcane 30 Posted January 5, 2013 There is a girl I read about who got advance parole. She went to Mexico and came back already without a problem. 1 Veevee20 reacted to this
Rawf 336 Posted January 5, 2013 There is a girl I read about who got advance parole. She went to Mexico and came back already without a problem. That sounds familiar, do you know the reason for traveling? There was another case but he is the husband of a US citizen.

arcane 30 Posted January 6, 2013 Doesn't say the reason why she applied. Family emergency, which qualifies for the humanitarian reason requirement.
Rawf 336 Posted January 6, 2013 What I meant is the specific reason, I guess they don't care about it as long as you say it is for family emergency? Interesting.
JayhOR24 58 Posted January 6, 2013 Its somewhat risky... :/ emergency only I guess! 1 Veevee20 reacted to this

ツ alejandriiukz ㋡ 41 Posted January 15, 2014 I personally believe that if they were to deny your re entrance you could sue them because that is what advance parole is about, granting you permission to travel under a reasonable cause.
