Hi everyone. Am from brooklyn but I was born in Trinidad. I move here when i was 14 and never went back home. I send in my application August 28th and I did my biometrics two weeks after and i having herad anything back from them. I know the proccess take three months but mines is going of five months. I call them and I check my status online and its still saying Inital Review. Am so confused about what could be taking them so long to let me know something.

The expected processing time for DACA isn't 3 months, it's 4-6 months. The 3 months processing time is if your I-821D application gets approved and your I-765 doesn't, USCIS has up to 3 months to give you a decision.

Like JoseG said its 4-6 months! I sent my application on Aug 24 and did my biometrics on Oct 11 and still not approved so don't worry its just a matter of time!

Welcome to the forum.

It is really hard to say why others are getting approved fast and others are not. For example, I am in a same situation as my sister but she got approved 28days after she did her bio and I have not heard anything yet, even thou we literally have the same evidence and asylum case. The only difference I can think of is that the person who handles each case would be different and how they decide to handle each case matters case by case. They can choose to scrutinize your application further or just approve it. All you can do at the moment is hope for the best and don't let it discourage you. I hope you hear something soon !
