Do I need to have a passport or just having my birth certificate is good enough?

Recommended Posts

Do I need to have a passport or just having my birth certificate is good enough? I came here when I was 11 and all I basically have is my birth certificate and documents that proof that I have resided here for over 5 years.

paperwork wise, the passport proves your identity. your birth certificate does the same thing. please remember to have your birth certificate translated and notarized.

you will need some kind of VALID government issued ID (passport, country ID, etc..) when you receive the letter telling you of your biometrics appt.

I don't have anything but my birth certificate since I came here as a kid. Where can I get my certificate translated? I have a lot of things like school I.D's from here though. And college I.D

and in terms of the ID you have, here is the link from USCIS saying what you will need to take to the biometrics appt.
