danni3094 0 Posted January 23, 2013 Hi everyone, So my sister and I both applied on Sept. 28 and we we received the receipts and biometrics appt. and everything was going good. However, after the biometrics appt. we did not hear anything about our case anymore. So last week I went online and checked the status of the cases. Apparently they sent a RFE form on December 14 (for both me and my sister) and we never received it. We talked to our attorney and he called and was able to get one sent for me requesting proof of identity. So he sent out copies of ID's and everything seems to be back on track now. HOWEVER, my sister's case is still frozen due to lack of evidence and I know its for proof of identity also. I called my attorney and it turned into a big mess, he is NOT helping at all!! I called USCIS and they have issued various requests for a new one to get sent to my address but I have not received anything yet. I would like to know if anyone can give me information on how to send the copies of her IDs on my own. Or can't i do that? PLEASE HELP
pswa83 302 Posted January 23, 2013 sending anything before you know what the RFE says may not help. even though you think thats what the RFE will says, until you know for certain, there is nothing that you can do. sending her ID with your RFE will do no good because they are two completely different cases even though you are brother and sister. also, you do not know if both cases are being handled by the same person at USCIS. mostly, they are not. just because they were filled together and so forth, does not mean that they are being process together or back to back. how long ago was the request for the RFE on your sisters case placed? silvazquez27 18 Posted January 23, 2013 Your case sounds very similar to mine. Everything was going good until I heard nothing after my biometrics :(The first time I called customer service told me that I had an RFE, but I never got anything on my mail, so they sent me another one. Waited two weeks and they told me I had to wait 30days? Wtf? After I waited 30days I called back again and they sent out another one.seriously? Wtf? Anyway two weeks after that they texted me telling me that there was never an official RFE FOR MY CASE!. That they had a glitch on their system and that they were sorry! it's been 85 working day since my biometrics and nothing has changed, still under initial review. JoseG 383 Posted January 23, 2013 My sister's case was updated December 15 with an RFE, it never arrived. I called USCIS 17 days later and put in a Service Request. 15 days after the Service Request, we got a letter in the mail from the California Service Center saying that they are currently having problems with their on-line system and that an RFE was never issued on my sister's case. Today her case updated again with another RFE. Let's see if this time it's for real. We will see on Thursday, that's when the letter should be arriving. Raul 14 Posted January 23, 2013 These government "officials" are a fkn joke! If you're receiving the RFE by mail they give you 87 days and 84 days if you get it email, to respond. 1 Fresita22 reacted to this
Calidreamer 100 Posted February 11, 2013 Nope. lol. Even after the Service Request they didn't bother to change it. Oh well, let's see if this one is for real. did she received her RFE? I've been checking on my bf status, finally on Jan 30th it said that a RFE was sent on that day, but nothing came, we called de lawyer, he said that USCIS is having problems with their online system, not to worry about it. When i checked the status again on Feb 5th it said that a RFE was sent on that day, as of today we haven't received anything and the status online hasn't change since the 5th. PLEASE HELP I understand what your saying, and yes theres is something you could do about your sisters RFE, but, its weird that they supposedly sent an RFE and you never received it on the mail. Does USCIS send all the letters to your own address? or to your lawyer address? Cause if they send a RFE letter and your address is correct, it shouldn't take more than 5 days to arrive. If your case is at the California Center, the following address is where you send your RFE response: (keep in mind that you cannot just send evidence without the letter they sent you on your RFE letter, its a blue paper with information, like receipt #, A number, and the evidence they need it from you. But this should be a last resource if there is nothing more to do. But try to wait, and keep calling customer service and your lawyer.)Department of Homeland Security U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services California Service Center P.O. I'm praying for y'all! he was detained once when he was a minor, so they asked for a criminal disposition, since there were no records he also went to the PD to get the police report, but they don't have records that far back. In the end he sent a letter from the Court another from PD saying that there are no records and an affidavit the lawyer gaged him to sign. @ Calidreamer: Yes the status on the USCIS website when you check should say they received it, if they did. thank you, yes his status now shows:On February 21, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location....blah blah blah
