pswa83 302 Posted January 23, 2013 hi and welcome. just curious about the what "old case" you are referring to and why you think you're old number will disappear? back in 2001 my mother filed an I-130 on my behalf and i have a number from that case. as far as i know, when i am able to adjust my status, i will have to give my I-130 A # on my I-485 petition. thus this number (the I-130 A#) does not disappear. if and when there is a time for DACA applicants to adjust their status they will need to use the A# they have in any and all petitions they file. an A# is like a SSN within the USCIS system. pswa83 302 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi.... Ok, now I understand your case. yeah, your case is different then mine, as mine is is a Relative Petition. With that case, I was given an application number and not an alien number only. So, with that petition, i am still not able to AOS or apply for a SSN or DL. In regards to DACA, I've already been approved and have been since November. Since then I've already gotten my DL and state ID and pretty much everything else I wanted.
