ツ alejandriiukz ㋡ 41 Posted January 28, 2013 For some reason something keeps telling me that I shouldn't have applied for the deferred action I know I deserve it but I feel like I should have left that opportunity for somebody who really deserved it since I can't find a job, my mom knowing the big opportunity President Obama gave us and that we had to put it to use, she still made me drop out of college not knowing how much that would affect me I just feel like every door is closing on me that I have no opportunities and I know I should be lucky and I am but its just all the negativity it has been 2 months and half that I got approved and I still can't find a job I feel like I just wasted that time.. I thought about going back to Mexico maybe there I had a shot at studying since the school I was going to here was the only one who accepts people with deferred action or they didn't have a problem accepting me like the other schools and also maybe working since I can really put the bilingual knowledge to work. I also considered maybe moving states but I cannot afford that since my parents are separated and I know my dad wouldn't want to pay so much for tuition. I am just overwhelmed I think 1 Admin reacted to this
Lonewolf8951 33 Posted January 28, 2013 I know it can be overwhelming. But you got to keep your head up. We deserve our chance at life as much as anyone else. All things happen for a reason. Just keep looking around for work. There's bound to be something out there. Does lose your faith chica. 2 Admin and outofmxny reacted to this

erika020 87 Posted February 11, 2013 aw don't say that! you'll find something I'm sure just keep on looking, don't give up girl. I wish I could help , I really do :/ moving to another state sounds like a good idea, some states like Texas and Cali are not that strict at accepting undocumented youth in schools and jobs. Don't give up remember we are DREAMers! luchamos hasta conseguir alcanzar nuestros sueños y metas 1 Admin reacted to this
walty 7 Posted February 11, 2013 seriously i cant believe you feel guilty. You have an opportunity that a lot of people wished they had. Instead of feeling "guilty"you should feel motivated that you finally have a chance to improve and make a better life for you and your family. yea things are hard but we now have a way of getting things done. maybe you cant find a job because you havent searched enough or you just gave up. whatever it is don't let a problem like that get you down. you already got approved. i honestly dont see a reason why your not smiling and cheering. dont give up and stop thinking like that. dont feel sorry for your self. get up and do something with this opportunity that you got. 4 erika020, Admin, Ruth123 and 1 other reacted to this
phoenixbird 25 Posted February 11, 2013 Are you kidding me ??? Do you hear yourself ??? Like what is wrong with you? You have no idea what you're saying , you're here complaining that you dont deserve this law because you cant find a job??? you know i've been waiting to get approved now for a couple of months I WISH WITH ALL MY HEART i was already approve even if that meant i was unemployed! at least i wouldve been approved! You got approved faster than many of us, the fact that you havent been able to find a job doesnt mean you dont deserve it . Doors are closing on you? B....please! you just got approved...doors are opening for you ! now you can have a license, you can travel inside the US, nobody can deport you now, you have a social, you have a work permit ...guess what that means? more job opportunities! i dont know what kind of job you're looking for but there's jobs out there. Have you try the mall? they always always hiring people at the stores ! maybe is not the job of your dreams but in the mean time you can work there save up and money and keep looking for that job you want. You haven't wasted these two months like you think, you have been trying to look for a job for the last two months! That's not wasting time , you know whats wasting time what we the people waiting for the approval are doing. or most of us are doing , like being home doing nothing because we can't do anything unlike you we cant go and look for a job yet because we still dont have a work permit so what do we ? we just sit here and wait and check the mailbox every day expecting our approval, we check the website more than once a day checking that our case has been moved from initial review were it has been the last couple of months to whatever the next step is. Tienes una falta de ubicacion terrible! Stop concentrating on the negative and look at the positive ...theres many stories here of people that have been waiting months to get an approval and here you are spitting at your approval go read those stories , go and feel your heart break for the many young people that arent as lucky as you to get approved as fast! Sabes que tienes q hacer en la vida....Ubicarte!!!! 7 MusicalHooligan91, Admin, Ruth123 and 4 others reacted to this
Gezinha 121 Posted February 11, 2013 No, don't say that, and don't feel guilty because this was given to you. No way! I hear Iowa, Missouri, Idaho and I get concerned because I tend to hear that a lot of people out there are very close minded. Have you been able to get a license? I really hope you can find something, even if it is a restaurant, I say that, just because it is not healthy to be at home all the time thiking things over too much. I have been home for almost a month and I am going crazy already, but I am not even approved yet. You can always move later, but go to school or a course that will accept DACA. No amount of education is too much. We are young and we will have out chance in this country. Do not give up. Pray and I will pray for you too, I know you will find something. Build up a nice resumee, I can even help you with that if you want, just message me. 3 engineer2mike, Admin and erika020 reacted to this
pswa83 302 Posted February 11, 2013 i dont think its about feeling guilty, it's more about frustration about not being able to find a job. but that's a downside of living in a small town. hang in there, you'll find something soon and you'll be on your way to being that productive person you want to be. 1 aliciadreamcatcher reacted to this
Gino10 30 Posted February 11, 2013 You sound really depressed. It's not righ, but its ok. Take a deep breath, relax n look at the world or our galaxy for that matter, see how small it is. I am not the right person to b telling you this but dont take life too serious. Step by step. Remember that you can iat least gobout and apply for jobs or commute freely, as oppose to those ones (me) who doesn't even have a document that would give them the courage to knock doors and always on the look out for any little incident that involves police or some type of immigration authority...look at people who have less than you , not just people who have more than you. A very respectful wise man told me that once...take a walk, be alone for a little bit, and talk to yourself. You are the only one who have the answer to your own puzzling thoughts...wow i can't believe i am saying this! ... dont b a pussy!! 2 engineer2mike and Fresita22 reacted to this
Calidreamer 100 Posted February 11, 2013 You do sound depressed take it from someone who has gone through that! You deserve this opportunity, you didn't take it away from anyone! You dropped off from school, well there is always next semester! You haven't found a job, get a positive attitude pick up the phone and start calling businesses, are there job agencies where you live? If your town is small maybe visit cities around you. When you think about going back to Mexico, think the reason why you are here in the first place, why you didn't leave before.

roadrunner11 167 Posted February 12, 2013 Ale I am sorry this is all happening to you but let me tell you life is always challenging whether we have DACA or not. I was also unemployed for 2 months after getting my work permit and I used all my savings. I am still paying my parents for all the money they loaned me to apply for DACA and pay my bills during those two months. But I knew things were soon going to change if I kept working hard for job interviews. I seriously applied to over 35 job positions and finally I was able to get a job. My point is most people think, including myself, life automatically becomes awesome and easy after DACA and we are WRONG. Life will always have its hurdles and obstacles. It can get really bad at times, but we MUST keep the sprit up and going because then if we decide to give up after DACA we truly wasted a good opportunity. Life will brighten up girly. Keep applying for jobs. Go back to school in your own terms. Maybe try saving as much as you can so you can go to college in the fall. <33333
Cochoz 48 Posted February 13, 2013 Hey Ale, I think you should really just find a part-time or full-time job it doesn't matter where at as long as you're getting some sort of income to support yourself. Don't drop out of school when you can continue going at it! We need all hands on when it comes to us DACA members to show what we can do ... so don't give that "i don't deserve DACA crap" because you got it for a reason, because for all the time that you've been here in the US, you did all things right. Keep your chin up! 2 Fresita22 and engineer2mike reacted to this

MusicalHooligan91 5 Posted February 23, 2013 Fresita2 I don't think you should be telling someone who is depressed to rely on drinking wine or any kind of alcohol to relief stress/anxiety. There is a misconception about alcohol specially in the Latino/Hispanic community. Alcohol is drug and is just as bad as crack or heroin. In all reality alcohol is probably the worst drug out there since its legal and you can buy it in the store. 1 Gezinha reacted to this
