srs 11 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi guys iam just curious and i am a little worried . I have been waiting since August to get a notice and i did a service request last month i have called them various times but nothing seems to get uscis attention to hurry up and finish up my case i am starting to think that my case is just thrown on some officers desk with out him/her knowing that its there i don't know but all of these thoughts come to my mind i can't believe that it takes this much time to do a background check i have a clean record except a simple traffic ticket for driving without a license but pretty much that is it. This wait is just making me nervous i just hope that this wait can be over soon so i can relax my mind,so back to my question, has anyone done a service request if yes what response have you got? 1 analee02 reacted to this
Mercedez 3 Posted January 30, 2013 I also did mines in August and am still waiting. I call them today to find out what is going on and I go no help. The people you talk to on the phone dont have any new info for you. The same info you check on USCIS with your receipt number is the same info they ready to you. Make no sense call them. JoseG 383 Posted January 30, 2013 I know two friends who were approved today and they applied early August. USCIS is still working on a lot of August applications. A service Request won't help much if your case isn't past the expected processing time for DACA which is 4-6 months. If you submit a Service Request before that, they will just tell you that your application is still within the expected processing time and if you don't hear anything by the time the 6 months are over, to contact them again. 1 srs reacted to this

Excuse me if I don't know much about Service Request. How do you do a Service Request ? I totally understood that it must be done after the 4 - 6 months expectancy wait. Any help would help , Thanks people.

You can call the 800 # for USCIS to ask them to do a service request for you, or you can do it yourself at https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

They're usually done whenever there's an issue with your case and you want the Service Center to look into it. Like in January, my sister was issued an RFE but it never arrived. I called USCIS and they told me to wait 15 days and if it didn't arrive by then, to give them a call back. After the 15 days I called them back and they put in the Service Request. After the Service Center got the Service Request, they sent my sister a letter saying that an RFE was never issued to her and that her case was still under normal review. So there needs to be an issue with your case in order for the USCIS Customer Service Rep to put in a Service Request.

In case nothing arrives after the 4- 6 months expectancy wait after October 25th (in which I did my biometrics) , then I would have to issue a Service Request. Thanks for your help Carlos!
