Jcorendain 0 Posted February 5, 2013 I'm currently a freshman in college and I want to further my education, but unfortunately college is expensive. So I'm asking if anyone knows where to get financial help like can we apply for FAFSA? And I wanted to join the military to pay for college, but I was told you had to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for financial aid? Is that true? I also heard of MALDEF but most of their scholarships are for people in California and with states with a mass of Hispanic population. Any Help?
splif0clock 89 Posted February 6, 2013 I don't know about the other questions but to join the military depending on what you want to do, you need to be at least a permanent resident and you must renounce you county of birth citizenship upon joining.
erika020 87 Posted February 6, 2013 try fastweb.com there's a lot of scholarships there that don't require you to be a u.s citizen (I applied to several scholarships from that website) you can also go to latinocollegedollars.org hope that helps! Good luck!!
