Considering Advance Parole

Recommended Posts

My grandma has arthritis she has had it for like 7 years now, she is not allowed to travel do to the seriousness of it.. So she lives in Mexico. If I apply for advance parole I will be submitting several documents from the Doctor notifying me the seriousness of the illness. Would that be good enough for them to grant me Advance Parole?

In my opinion I wouldn't consider "arthritis" to the extension of a life threatening situation to the point where the US would grant AP. Even if that were the case I know she's your grandmother and all, but are you willing to risk not being allowed back in the country?

I agree with MusicalHooigan, arthritis doesn't seem like something you can get Advance Parole for. I see Advance Parole more for people who need to travel because they have an immediate relative in the hospital with a life threatening illness or if someone has passed away and you need to attend the funeral.

Although, who knows what USCIS considers Humanitarian reasons.

USCIS still hasn't changed it's guidelines. If you were living here Unlawfully, you can still be denied for the 3/10 years, so nobody is safe from traveling. Also, I thought USCIS was working on a new application for AP for us DACA approved.

1. humanitarian reason = family member is extremely sick basically days are counted for them or have die & you going to the funeral.

2. As of right now, If u have accrued unlawful presence, you will be denied entrance even if you were granted AP.
