Admin 174 Posted March 6, 2013 How did you make a service request? Because as you can on my timeline, I sent my application a Lil before you and I'm just tired of waiting You can call them and you can ask them to make a service request.
latinagirl 46 Posted March 6, 2013 OK you calll and after the first representative answer he/she is going to tell you the same old thing to wait so after they finish you ask if you can get transfer to another agent please and they will tell you sure and that it may take a while for them to answer 30-45 minutes even more but after waiting for that period of time the othrr agent is going to ask a few more personal questions so they know is really you calling like the adress telephone number etc. And after that they tell you how and what they see in your case and they may and may not do you a service request I know this because last time i called actually last week the lady told me she couldnt do one for me but this other time this other person did so please know that not every agent would be willing to do it but stay positive keep trying and hope for the best that they will!! Good luck!!

Laste31 41 Posted March 6, 2013 I heard it doesn't speed up the process though
JoseG 383 Posted March 6, 2013 If your case is still waiting on the background check to clear, doing a Service Request won't speed it up. Not sure what happens if you submit a Service Request if your case is still just waiting to be reviewed.
Laste31 41 Posted March 6, 2013 JoseG do you think it'll slow down the process? Did your sister get approved yet?
JoseG 383 Posted March 6, 2013 I doubt it will slow down the process. All they do is check the status of the case and then mail you a letter telling you why it's taking longer to process. I sent back my sister's RFE response a month ago. I had contact through e-mail with the California Service Center when we sent back the RFE response and they said that we should hear a response within 30 days. We didn't, so I replied in the e-mail asking to follow up on the status of her case. Now I'm just waiting to see what they say.
Laste31 41 Posted March 6, 2013 I mean I just hope they don't send me a letter saying that they're really busy with other cases, like I want a good reason. Oh hopefully she gets approved really soon
JoseG 383 Posted March 6, 2013 Well, it can only really be two things that the respond with. Either your case requires additional review, a.k.a. your case is still waiting to be reviewed, or that your background check still hasn't cleared.
