Deferred Action Delays

Recommended Posts

Just curious, but how many of you who have had a delay of over 4 months included in your deferred action application a social security number previously issued by USCIS? I ask because I did as I had previously applied for residency and was actually issued a valid s.s. number only to have it revoked after I was disqualified for residency because I aged out of the system (mom was able to get her residency though). Anyway, as I said, I had a history with my social security number, and I also had a special number issued when I first arrived to the U.S. on my tourist visa. I included all this, and now I am thinking that there may be a delay or there taking longer on applications that included such numbers. My app was received Oct. 1st, I had biometrics done Nov. 5. and I am still currently waiting.

A lot of people I know who turned in their applications at the same time as I, or later have already heard a response and they had never previously applied for residency.

I might be crazy but I think there is a link between people who were already in the system because of a previous residency application and delays in hearing a response about deferred application approvals.

What do you guys think?
