JoseG 383 Posted March 9, 2013 The expected 6 month processing time starts from the Received Date on your Receipt Notices. This has been proven countless of times when people call in to do a Service Request. USCIS always checks the Received Date to calculate how long the case has been processing. With that being said, the 6 month expected processing time is starting to become meaningless because people have exceeded it and USCIS isn't doing anything to expedite those cases. According to them, the cases are either being held up because of background checks, or they're still in line waiting to be reviewed. People have already done Service Requests after exceeding the 6 month wait, and they were just told that they have to wait longer.
Santi 353 Posted March 9, 2013 I calculated from when I did Bios, but one fellow Dreamer was told that the wait starts when they receive the application. Reason why I (and many others) calculated from Bios date, was because your info had to be sent to the respective office handling the case. Regardless, keep track of your wait time by going to this thread, which has a great tool to calculate the wait time discounting weekends and holidays. http://adreamact.com/topic/884-working-days-calculator/ Hope it helps and keep your hopes up! You will eventually get approved! Cheers!
