Building A Credit

Obviously my social is new. So that brings 0 credit, how do I start my credit. I tryed applying for a credit card but got denied. Any suggestions besides getting a car or home.

Stop applying for unsecured credit cards. Go to your local bank and ask for a secured credit card, basically you charge the card with the security deposit and that becomes your credit, you use the card and make monthly payments just like an unsecured credit card. After a year of clean credit card use, you get the deposit back and the secured card becomes unsecured.

It works great! Try capitalone secured credit card.

I had no credit, used this card abd after a year, my credit was 350, i swear. And bought a house.

Second option is trying witg a local credit union.

I got a secured credit card from bank of america some time back for $99 and they gave me a $500 credit. But I have been a customer for years.

Ha! my social life has yet to begin...and I will be applying for a credit card sometime this month. I believe all you need is a job?Correct me if I am wrong. It justs lets the bank know you have the means to pay them back.

Most of the time they do check for a job, but also if you have a checking and savings account.

Let me know how it goes! If you apply online and you get denied, give them a call. They usually always approve you after asking a few simple questions
