b923 3 Posted March 16, 2013 i recently tried to get a SS# from the local office and they went ahead and took it and put in the system, gave me receipt and everything. then i get a call that need a valid passport or state id. now the question is that is it possible to get a tennessee state ID from the dmv with just the work permit or what else would i need?? and has anyone tried to get a indian passport from the embassy after getting the work permit? thanks for the help guys!! pswa83 302 Posted March 16, 2013 ok, this is what the SSA has come out with in regards to getting a SSN with DACA. i would print the link below, take it to the SSA office and try to apply again. as long as you have your birth certificate, you can apply. if the person processing you application gives you a hard time, ask to speak to a supervisor. http://ssa.gov/pubs/...rred_action.pdf in regards to the state ID from TN, you need to google the DMV of TN and see what are the requirements for getting an ID http://www.tn.gov/sa...se/idonly.shtml Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
