Tori 38 Posted March 17, 2013 Suppers y'all! Well, a few weeks ago I finally saw some progress in my case. I'm out in California and my case was sent to the CA service center. My case was received on the 13th of Nov 2012 and biometrics taken on Dec 11th. On Feb 28th my name was updated for the i765, not too sure what that means. But here's the sticking point: On March 8th the i821-d has updated with an rfe notice being mailed that day. I figured I'd get the notice in the coming week. Nope. On the 14th it was updated again and that the notice had been sent that day instead. Interesting? To make light of the situation, I'm not sure what the worse wait is/was: the wait for the initial update on my i821-d or the wait for the rfe notice. ha. JoseG 383 Posted March 17, 2013 Hi, Welcome to the forum. Perhaps the first RFE that was mailed out on the 8th wasn't delivered to the right address. Do you live in an apartment building?
Tori 38 Posted March 17, 2013 Thanks for welcoming me to the forums! I live in a town home with an address clear as day. And my address hasn't changed since I submitted my case last year. I figure it might have been a goof in the system since I did read in the forum of other cases that had erred initially.
JoseG 383 Posted March 17, 2013 Yeah that's another possibility. The first RFE could have been a false update.
Tori 38 Posted March 17, 2013 Tomorrow's the start of a new week. If it was indeed sent on Mar 14th then it should be in my mailbox on Mon or Tues. I'm looking forward to seeing that notice so I can know what I need to further clarify/support my case.
JoseG 383 Posted March 17, 2013 Yeah, most likely by Monday.
absent 6 Posted March 18, 2013 And i'd personally prefer the rfe over the initial review. most likely the rfe means good news..you can check out my timeline. 'rfe's means they're looking at your case. and if you're able to submit what they're requesting, things could really speed up for ya. ...hope it does
Tori 38 Posted March 21, 2013 Talk about snaaaaaaaaaaaaail mail. Supposed rfe notice mailed out on Mar 14th, should of been in my box earlier this week, By far waiting on the rfe is much worse than waiting for the initial response after case was been reveiwed. Calidreamer 100 Posted March 21, 2013 The same thing happened to my bf, he finally got the notice 9 days after it was sent. Good luck 'n keep us posted
Tori 38 Posted March 22, 2013 I sure haven't received the notice, but my lawyer got a copy of it sometime in the last day and he's already worked out what we'll be submitting. It turns out USCIS wants further explanation regarding my name, aside from the aliases we jotted down in the initial submission. The passport I received as minor (4 years of age) to get a visa reflected my mother's name but I took on my father's name after reentering the States a few years after. I'm glad that's the only issue. I didn't want the rfe to be about evidence of living in the States. 2007 - 2009 were my weakest years to prove I was here since I graduated college in 05 and was starting up my freelance web designer and filmmaker career. All I had was a letter from my brother's oncologist stating that I was one of the primary caregivers while he was in-n-out of the cancer ward at Stanford (Lucille Packard Children's Hospital) between 07 - 09 and several invoices for clients, checks under my name, and online job application forms I filled out. I'm hoping the new evidence gets reviewed in a timely fashion and I get approved. The next wait starts ...
