After Receiving The Notice

I received the notice about being a approved for DACA and it said that I would have to wait to get my Employment Authorization Document separate. When I went to pick up my mail I had both the notice and the card with my picture and information. So I got a bit confused but I'm guessing it's the Employment Authorization Card. So what's next? How do I get a SSN and my license. I'm in Illinois by the way.

Eh, what do you mean you're guessing it's the Employment Authorization Document? Do you have the actual card with your picture on it?

Well since the letter said I would have to wait to be approved for the Employment Authorization Card. I thought it was going to take longer for the card to come in so it confused me. I read it over and that is the card and yes it does have my picture on it. Thank you for the the links very helpful. Although I have to request a new birth certificate since it was lost at my lawyers office.

Yeah it does but I'm having one sent from Mexico it should be here next week. And no I don't a passport.

I also had to request my Birth Certificate from my family in Mexico before I sent off my applications because I had lost my original Birth Certificate.

You have to wait for the EAD in order to apply for a SSN.

Yes, you have to use the EAD Card to apply for Social Security number. Make sure you take your passport, birth certificate and your EAD card. When I applied for my SSN I thought a passport and an EAD card would be enough but they also wanted to see my birth certificate, luckily I had it with me.

You can use your Birth Certificate and EAD. 99% of the time they won't ask you for anything else. If they do, I'm sure your matricula will suffice.

I got my birth certificate already ! I'm going for the SSN tomarrow. I don't have a passport but I have my school ID. And I was told that any bill at my name could help for proofs. But when one of my friends went for her SSN and they told her at the office that she had to wait 15 after receiving her notice.

I did my finger prints on october 2012 n since then I had not received any info till yest march 29th when I got a txt telling me that my name had bern updated in my employment authorization... What does that mean??? I've been waiting for ever n that's all I get??? Has anyone else gotten this info

I believe expired documents are not accepted by some officers. But you can give it a try.
