Veevee20 14 Posted March 20, 2013 I reached my 6 months today since I applied. Sept 20,2012 is when they received my case. I called to ask for a service request and they told me no. The operator was very rude and told me My case could be sitting there for a year. I have no criminal record at all, this is so devastating 1 Mee reacted to this
JoseG 383 Posted March 20, 2013 This is happening more often. People are being rejected from doing Service Requests because USCIS doesn't have an official Processing Time for the I-821D. Either way, the Service Requests aren't accomplishing anything, people are just being told to wait. I think it's only a matter of time before they completely stop doing Service Requests for DACA. Gezinha 121 Posted March 20, 2013 Great, then why tell people they can do a request in the first place? I means, did they think that when the law came out 200 people would apply only? Jeez, the stupidity of these office worms amazes me. 2 Fresita22 and Heisenberg2 reacted to this
Heisenberg2 34 Posted March 20, 2013 Damn , so would it help if I do a Service Request ? Just so my name can spark up in the application process and they can take a look at it. Next week will be my 6th month.

Next week will be my 6th month. It certainly can't hurt to do a Service Request, but from what we've been seeing, no one has gotten a positive response other than the generic "we are working as fast as we can" reply. Heisenberg2 34 Posted March 20, 2013 Who knows if it helps or not. I'll try it just in case.

Yeah I'm gonna do that next week , since my 6th month deadline will be reached. Do you think the process can take more than 1 year ?
taramo35 27 Posted March 20, 2013 i doubt it or im just not accepting the idea of 1 year lol but i think that most of the people who wanted to apply already did ... i have a few friends that arent even applying (they could) but thats something else.

I'm gonna be (try to be) realistic and say that it will probably take 1 year. or close to 10 months or 9...That could be true, I'm sure there are people who are still gathering proof to still send. Anyway, I hope that your transaction moves swiftly as well as other members here in this forum.
angel_0 7 Posted March 21, 2013 This may be a long shot, but try contacting your local congressman/woman. On their websites, there's a form you can fill out authorizing him/her (or their agents) to look into your case. I did this last week after 5 months of waiting, and my case was just approved on Friday. There's no guarantees, but they can inquire into your case and possibly nudge them to move the process along. In my request form, I explained my situation and gave them my case number. A lot of people don't know but this is one of the functions of a congressman/woman. They are authorized to look into any government agency's processes, especially if a constituent (you and I) ask for their help. Hope this helps! 6 Afrosana, Gezinha, Axxis and 3 others reacted to this
