60 Days Almost Up For Rfe Respond

Recommended Posts

I been waiting since September 25 when they received my package. They reply me back with an RFE on January not sure wat day, but I reply back with the extra evidence n USCIS received it on January 25th. So next week will mark the end of the 60 days. They told me to call them back if no resoond by March 25. What should I ask them or tell them since no respond yet at deadline of 60 days?

just tell them exactly what you just wrote, that they told you to call them back if no resoond by March 25 and take it from there.

Good luck :D

I would call tomorrow and tell them that your case status says that you should receive a response within 60 days, so you want to do a Service Request to find out what's going on with your application.

Also, when the first rep you speak with gives you the run around reasons why they are taking longer to respond back, ask them to transfer you to a case officer (ie, level 2 reps). They would have more detail for you about your pending case (in some cases they would even tell you if your application is with a case officer or not) . The 1st level reps only have access to the same information that you have on the USCIS website.

When you do a Service Request after the 6 months, does a Case Officer look at your package/application ?

They look up the status of it.

but is it an officer that is checking into the process of the application or is it the typical rep that looks at the same screen that one checks at uscis.gov ?

When I called to do a service request, I was told I was a day early and to call back. I wasn't satisfied with the explanation that I got from the first level call center rep so I asked to be transferred to a case officer (lol according to the women I was speaking to, she wrote down something saying I insisted). The next case officer I spoke with looked up my case status and advised me not to do a service request because my case is with an immigration case officer and to give them 45 days to respond back. She even told me my background check has cleared around feb. 20 and my case has been with a case officer ever since. So, I waited and I got approved after 39 days later. The second level officer I spoke with was very nice and my guess is that she had a good day that day or something, because I didn't think she would go in detail regarding my case and give me the info.

From the looks of it, I think a different person form USCIS checks your case on the workload system they got and responds back to service requests.
