Why would you claim them anyways . But to answer your question, I haven't heard of anything like that. 1 pswa83 reacted to this
Calidreamer 100 Posted March 25, 2013 Is this true? Someone told me that for those who claimed child tax credit in recent years using ur nieces and nephews, most likely u wont get approved. Is this true? I don't see how claiming child tax credit can affect a DACA app. I haven't come across someone not getting approved for rightfully claiming child tax credit. You are able to claim nices, nephews, your own parents as dependents, but if you get audited, you have to prove it to the IRS.Maybe the person who did it is aware that he/she falsely claimed his/her nices and nephews as dependents when they weren't, and this person is afraid of potential consequences...dunno...I like to make stories in my head lolz Trust me, you don't want to mess with the IRS
