Tori 38 Posted April 2, 2013 So what kinds of jobs have y'all taken to support yourselves while living illegally in the states? I've been working as an independent contractor since 2005 in the film industry as well as a web designer. All 1099 jobs.
aloola 11 Posted April 5, 2013 Well I have really had much work experience because I just graduated out of high school in 2012 but I've sold baked goods. And I worked in a factory for 2 months before starting college. Overall, I haven't found myself in a position where I've needed to work. I am extremely grateful that my parents have had the ability to support me and the costs I incur up to now. I really admire those who have worked and gpne to school at the same time even before all these opportunites came to us. It is amazing to me to think that some DREAMers have acquired their Bachelor's and even Master's! All without financial aid or without these documents we receive through DACA. Inspiring indeed 2 roadrunner11 and engineer2mike reacted to this

engineer2mike 36 Posted April 5, 2013 I have been working illegally for 10 years where I most was in manufacturing. My first job was recycling can & bottles in Jr. & high school where I was making $10 a day which to me was plenty of cash back then. I had to stay away from big names company (which I now I qualify) that offer good pay because they use E-Verify system. I can only get the minimum wages jobs . I tried to get job at restaurants but they see my manufacturing experience , H.S & A.S Degree, OVER QUALIFIED and they don't call.
