You should call them back and try to speak to level 2 case officer so you can see if your background check has cleared or going under an extended check. Level 1 reps won't have much info for you because I think they only have the same online access as we all do. But, level 2 case officers would know if your application is with an immigration officer or if they are waiting for your background check to clear. To get to level 2 case officer, you have to be persistent about your reasons to speak to an immigration officer because the first person you would speak with will try to discourage you from doing so.

I know when I spoke to them last time, the lady I spoke with wrote something down saying "I demanded to speak to a case officer" but I am glad I did because the level 2 case officer gave me some hope about my case saying I should hear a response soon ( even told me not to do a service request etc.) . After 4 wks later, I got my approval.

Best of luck. And, don't feel your case is the only one that is taking long. I have seen more than a dozen aug. applicants who are still waiting for a response.

Bro/Sis, I can't really tell you what to say because I have no clue what your situation is. But, you can tell them your situation and I am sure they would be more than happy to tell you what is going on - not the level 1 reps.

For starters, I am sure you are concerned about your case taking forever so why don't you start from there.

Call them until you get the answer that you need. You are way over the processing time and they have to give you an answer as soon as possible. Try doing a service request as well.

Don't stop calling them, honestly don't. :)
