I am so afraid that anytime my husband could be stopped driving and get deported, urgh, I just can't stand this feeling of having received DACA and having this, and it is too good to be true and something will happen to him. Oh my, I am so negative, I cant' help it. lol It will pass, I know it! And in less than 20 months, maybe all of us will be visiting our families in our countries! if he has been approved for DACA and has a valid DL, then he's not going to be deported if he gets pulled over. also if he is DACA approved, then once CIR passes he will be in a better position and will only have to wait 5 yrs before applying for PR but will have a valid visa so that he can work and even travel out of the US without AP Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Gezinha 121 Posted April 17, 2013 Most likely will be a faster path. I know you have been in line for some time right? It would be good that whoever is in line gets this before any of us can even apply, it is only fair because they have been waiting for so long. While securing the border, work on people who are waiting already, then get their cases out of the way so they can receive the other millions, because this is not going to be fast, at all! pswa83 302 Posted April 17, 2013 oh, that sucks that you're husband couldnt apply for DACA. but if i'm reading it correctly, once you're able to apply for PR, then you can place your husband on your application as well. therefore, hopefully giving your husband status once you became a PR. yeah, i've been waiting for a family visa since 2001. but if 5 yrs is all i have to wait to be a PR and still be able to travel out of the US, then that's fine with me. i've already 12, whats another 5? lol...it's better then 10 or 13. He has been here for 8 years, but he came thru the border. He would qualify, right? But I could add him to my paperwork so he would wait less??? That would be wonderful! I know, all I really care about right now is being able to travel and see my mom, green card and citizenship will come later, no matter how long, I can wait. There seems to be some confusion going on and I hope I'm not the one who's confused. If and When this bill passes and becomes law, everyone who is in this country illegally will apply for RPI within 6 months after DHS comes up with a plan for securing the border. RPI by the way is just like PR without the government benefits like foot-stamps...etc. If I read the bill correctly, which I think I did, RPI is not tied to border security. Since this bill is going to pass with alterations or not, because we know it WILL, somehow, they should get this out of the way. Nothing realted to the bill, I know, but I am just saying it is ridiculous to deny people the common right to drive but love to charge them for taxes and everything else with no question, it is just senseless. The amendment would require individuals applying for provisional legal status to maintain regular employment and a “regular income or resources” above 400 percent of the poverty line (more than $92,000for a family of four). Under the current bill, immigrants must earn at 100 percent of the poverty line or show regular employment. Isn't that kind of normal income for a family of 4? What if the person is above 25 (the law looks at them as an "independent" person)? Still can't believe people can be so heartless.. I bet none of them have idea how hurtful it is to be an undocumented immigrant. We should all make the government remove their documents for a month and see what they think after working hours in a factory getting paid the minimum wage...
