elsoniador91 0 Posted April 16, 2013 Hello! I'm new to this forum website but it caught my attention due to how helpful people are in here. My question as you can see is about how long does your work permit take for it to be mailed to you? I know you can track it down but for me that process is taking a long time. I got the finger print appointment on March 26, its been more than a month and the tracking website is telling me that they are on the second procedure out of five. Is this normal or should I be worried??? Thanks for the help guys!
JoseG 383 Posted April 16, 2013 Your I-765 application, will only be processed after you have been approved for DACA, which that can take anywhere between 2-6 months. Some people have been waiting even longer than that.
Gezinha 121 Posted April 16, 2013 None of us here has waited less than 4 months, I don't think. Mine took exactly 7 months from the application mailing date til now, I just got my card last week. With the rising number of applicants, I think if you are lucky, 6 months, if not, 8-9. I think the application numbers can only rise. It is completely normal to take longer than 5 months. If it takes more than 6, then you can call. Otherwise, it is just a waiting game. I will be honest and say chances are they didn't even open your letter except to take out the check, and they will only open it a week before they approve you or request RFE. They only put everyone in Initial Review so we can all be at ease and make us think they are looking at our stuff, but reality is they are not. They will approve you in the weeks they open your package, and it is not going to be for another 4 months, at least. But like I said, if the 6 month mark comes and they don't say anything, call them. 6 months from the application date, not the biometrics date. Good luck. (They are frustrating, but don't get mad and desperate, because believe me, that does not help, most of us were tired of waiting and complianing before our stuff came in the mail). 4 LALY86, Santi, engineer2mike and 1 other reacted to this
elsoniador91 0 Posted April 17, 2013 That makes a lot of sense...I guess I got so worried since my brother got his quickly but then again he was one of the first people to get it. I'm happy to know now that its ok. I'm just pissed that it will take that long...I need a job asap! Would I be able to get a job at the moment? How did you guys do it? Thanks so much for your feedback!

Gezinha 121 Posted April 17, 2013 I had been working under a fake for almost 9 years, an alias as well because my mom told me to do that when i was younger, and i wish i hadn't. But I pretty much looked for places where brazilians, colombians and guatemalans worked because I knew there was a lesser chance of them cheking papers. I know that at 5 GUYS they dont check, do you have that restaurant at where you live? Also, construction work, paiting work, mostly with a single guy that hires people on a "I know someone that works here" basis, you know. How old are you? Are still in school? profjouster 17 Posted April 17, 2013 does the wait time really start from when you sent in your application? i was told it starts after biometrics.

engineer2mike 36 Posted April 17, 2013 Gezinha, I am 29. I've been going to school on & off since I graduated H.S. I am transferring to a 4-year University from a community college this Fall. I also been working with a fake papers since then, and started filing taxes since 2007 using an ITIN. I'm O.K financially because I have a good credit/lending reputation which I want to show it with a credit history.
