Santi 353 Posted April 17, 2013 I took a dental assisting course too, but I definitely didn't think that was good for the law because it was only 6 months long. In my opinion, for many other reasons, the longer the program, the better... If you can get an Associate's in Science from a Jr. College: You will be able to use your degree right after graduation and look for a job in your respective field You can transfer your credits to a traditional 4-year university if you want to continue your studies Your debt load will be significantly lower than if you attended a Career College I, personally, attended a Jr. College and transferred to a State U...it took me around 5 + years, but it was definitely worth it! If you don't have significant commitments other than a full time job, you can at least strive for the Associate's degree...schedules are mostly flexible and you can study around your work schedule... Even if you have a family, you can take a couple of classes per semester until you meet the requirements for the degree... Keep in mind that the requirements for PR will go into effect, if and only if, the bill passes in congress... However, it is still a good investment that will eventually lead to a career and not a job. 3 Dariela, engineer2mike and Gezinha reacted to this
Dariela 8 Posted April 17, 2013 How about a certificate as dental assistant? Dies it count or do I need a higher degree? i was about to ask the same, paisana, (somos catrchas)
Laste31 41 Posted April 18, 2013 i was about to ask the same, paisana, (somos catrchas) Oh yeah?! I need to know because the fastest I get a certification of some sort the better! I can't afford to pay a lot of money on a long career, I have a daughter so I don't have the time to go to school. So I need to get a certificate in something that's going to pay good money and that's not going to take long to complete. What part of Honduras are you from? Osha 126 Posted April 18, 2013 So when is the bill going for a vote on the senate? The bill was submitted to the Senate Judiciary committee first for some hearings and I believe the hearings are scheduled for Friday and some other hearings to follow thereafter. I don't know when exactly the bill would be sent to the Senate floor for debates, but it could be sometimes in May...hopefully. 2 theaviator360 and Gezinha reacted to this

Gezinha 121 Posted April 18, 2013 Well, if they are requesting higher education, that is what we must all have. No taking shortcuts on that one.
