Senator Says Boston Attack Should Factor In Immigration Debate !!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I agree that most Citizens of this country do not take advantages of the opportunites that they have in this country. I have alot of friends who don't really try to better their lives and have the opportunity to do so. I've worked my butt off since I was 18 at my job and five years later and a few promotions and im making a better living than most people I know. I always ponder as to if I had the same privilages that they've had since birth where I would be, but I'm actually glad of my situation of not being legal because I've had to work a bit harder to get to where I am instead of depending on the government.

I know a lot of unproductive piece of sht people most of them African Americans nd Puerto Ricans that posses ZERO skills at anything nd expect to get payed a boat load of money, unproductive piece of sht people do nothing but bitch about everything sit at home nd live under warfare checks .

Since I came to this great nation I been working my ass (14) started to work at a French fry place after school instead of hanging around,I had to stay in the library to translate all my tasks from English to Spanish,go over my day with my ESL teacher, after library I had to go to work by bus by taxy lot of times even walking under the rain, snow or 100 degrees under the sun. Came home almost at 1am go to sleep nd same routine over nd over till I graduated from high school.

After high school I was devastated when I knew that I was not gonna be able to go to college cuzz of my status so I had no more option than to keep working, without papers got involved in the apparel business thanks to tutorials on YouTube nd lot of reading in google nd Wikipedia learned about business nd graphic design, fall of 2012 applied for my working permit winter of 2012 got my working permit SSN nd Driving permit(next month I'm getting my license)

2013 partner up with the apparel company that I used to work,we just opened 5 new locations 45 total nd one of the things that really piss me off is to see LEGAL unproductive people bitching doing nothing but destroying this great nation with their arrogance nd laziness.

I was 14 when i came, now I'm 23 with a successful life nd future in front of me.

Amen ...

You couldn't have said it better!

In every race, background, religion, etc (I don't see color; I see people):

  • you have productive people that contribute to society and add value
  • you have leechers

It is your decision as to with whom you want to associate with...

(and I mean 'your decision' in general, not 'your decision' as in someone in particular)

Welfare is there for a reason to help those less fortunate and in need. Everyone with a job should be grateful for not having to depend on those resources unless needed. I completely disagree with people making a "career" out of welfare and others paying taxes and not being able to collect benefits (those who pay taxes and are not entitled to any federal aid). But if one of us or any family member LEGITIMATELY needed this aid and could qualify temporarily then it is ok.

I'm all for States drug testing those who want to be/are on welfare. I think there should be stricter background checks on those who apply for the link card. (Link card is a way for the state of Illinois to help those who do not make enough money a year to support their families by giving them a certain amount a month depending on family size to buy groceries and other needs. I'm sure most states have a system like this implemented with a different name) I've heard stories of people in a brand new Cadillac using the Link card to buy their groceries. If I would be making a good amount of money of year to where I can splurge on luxuries like that I would be embarrassed to carry a Link card in my wallet. Yet I guess some people have no shame.

Did you guys hear, like in September last year, this lady in NH, working in a store said she would not accept EBT card from a customer to pay for cigarretts. And the person got pissed and asked for her boss or something, and I think there was police involved and this became news. She told the person that the card was for milk, bread, you know, the obvious, and still this person wanted to pay for cigarretts with it. In the end, the clerk, doing the right thing as an upstanding citizen, got fired! I would sure as shit promote her, no doubt! I mean, the government has to test people for sure before giving away benefits, and fix the EBT system.

We need to target congress to get the bill passed. According to dreamact.info 208 say yes while 116 say no. If I'm not mistaking then we need 218 to pass right? This is the time. Let's target our local senator and make it happen! To those that have gotten their Ead and even those that haven't. The time to stick together is now! Let's make it happen. Spread the word!

If one day i become one i hope that i wont become like that. Iam sorry for the bad words but this is just my opinion so frustrated guys i think i just need to chill but i can't help it sorry.

When things like this happens, people in this country turn into complete idiots. I've been reading tons of comments and posts on many social networks sites and I can't believe how racist, stupid and completely irrational people are. Some jackasses are trying to turn this tragedy into a political debate about immigration and some others are blaming Russians and Muslims for this tragedy. The news media on the other hand is over speculating about things that they don't know.

The stupidity of many people in this country is what brought us the Iraq war and all of its unconstitutional laws like the Patriot-Act.

I'm just going to watch all the nonsense that will be coming out of the media in the coming days. The racist right wingers are not going to derail immigration reform again, i'm fed up with them!

Another thing that annoys me. I'm Punjabi and people can tell right away that I'm either Punjabi or they confuse me for being a latino. I hate it when they say so in Your country? Just because the fact I'm not white doesn't make me an American? I never went to my parent's country. This is the only country I know. This is my country. If could, I would have joined the marines. It really annoys me. I know nothing about my parent's country but I respect it as well. I just wish that people would start considering non-Caucasians Americans as well.

Some do, some don't...

It all depends on their level of cultural sensitivity, and the way they cope with diversity...Another huge factor is their level of education...

I have come to realize that as people are exposed to higher education, great metropolitan areas, or both, they tend to just treat everyone similarly (either good or bad, regardless of background)...

One anecdote:

I lived in NY for around 6 months, and one thing that caught my attention was that one day I was passing by Grand Central going to Murray Hill, and I noticed that one of the guys that sell Halal Food was doing his prayers (he was Muslim and he got on his knees in the middle of pedestrian traffic to pray - huge display of devotion)...I found this beautiful, but many tourists were staring, pointing, taking pictures, etc...regular New Yorkers were just swinging by in a hurry (like always ;))...Obviously they notice it, but they are accustomed to it...

The following picture, I took while going downtown on the FDR...It basically summarizes NYC's attitude towards people, and drives my point across...

I agree with Santi, lets not generalize; I have a bunch of Muslim friends two of Chechen origin and they are super chill.

generalization is funny until someone gets offended then they ruin everything.

Dude, I agree with you 100%

However, I only generalize with my FRIENDS, and I joke around with their stereotypes...just because they are my friends and I have that level of intimacy with them...I have Asian friends, some of them engineers, and I joke about that...I have Jewish friends, and I am Catholic, and I joke around with them, as they do with me...because we are friends...

However, I would not use stereotypes nor generalizations around someone I don't know, because they would get offended and I would feel uncomfortable...

It has happened before, it won't happen again...

ive seen ladies rockin' coach purses and other high end brands paying with ebt and then jumping into their suv's with rims and everything. i also know a lot of people that are taking advantage of the system and lying to get help when in fact they can afford groceries and other things. those are just people that are ignorant and just get here and exploit the country while the people like us that are actually here for the long run trying to make a good life pay for all their bullshit. they should investigate the type of people they give all of this help to instead of just making it a fill out an application process with limited proof.
