I have created this topic to discuss your feelings and reactions towards the 2 bombers and we all know by now what happened.

What did you think when it happened?

How did you react when it happened?

Why do you think they did it?

These are just some questions to think about when writting your replys. We should to have a good discussion about the bombing and how it affected our lives in one way or another.

I just want to say first of all that it is horrible how the older brother died, and they even posted a picture of his dead body on Reddit. I was horrified. No one deserves that, his family doesn't deserve it, he has a child, and she will see that someday, because everyone knows, once it is on the net, it never goes away. I do not know why they did it, how this came about, but it has been reported they both travelled to their home country for 6 months and came back a little different, so, it is speculation what happened in those 6 months. I think they were brainwashed, c'mon, how does a pre med student in America suddenly turn violent and blows up people? It does not make sense. How does a great boxer just wake up one day and plants a bomb in a crowd? It just doesn't add up. I am not saying they didn't do it, or shouldn't feel the full weight of the law fall on them, but it sure as shit doesn't seem like any other terrorist case I've seen. And I say them, because even tho one of them was tragically killed, it does not change what despicable act he allegedly commited.

I just feel apalled by how much my fellow Bostonians are rejoycing over this tragic death. I am happy that they caught the younger brother and that he is alive to answer for what he did, and maybe even help us bring down worse terrorist organizations, who knows? I logged into msnbc this morning and they had pictures of the older brother at the gym, when he was boxing, and some morons were asking to see pictures of him dead, shot in the head, his limp body, how sick is that? These people are acting no better than the ones they call terrorists themselves.

As an individual, I find it shameful to want death to someone else as justice, as a human being, it should be against out nature to wish death upon another fellow human.

I am so sorry for the victimis, people who will never walk normally again, never have a normal life, and the ones who lost their loved ones may never recover. They know exactly what it feels like to be lost, vulnerable, just like the families of the ones who did this.

I guess we will have to wait for the boy to wake up and tell the world what happened, why do this, but no matter what explanation he gives, if he gives ones, the world has already decided his faith, and that is also a tragedy.

Some people get brainwashed into doing things by extremist countries, and religion, and I am definitely not saying that they should be given a pass because they were acting crazy because someone made them do it, no,but the hate that this country has against the Muslims, Arabs and all that they are not familiar with, fuels this war.

This is just an opinion, I am not defending the alleged bombers, I just think that hate spewes hate, and there has been enough death, and it is clear that the attempts to bombard American citizens or citizens of anywhere else has done nothing good too the world. I see no logic in this.

Please, let's stop this as respect for the victimis of hate, bombs, animosity and fear everywhere in the world!

I'll preface by saying that any kind of destructive behavior where people are put in danger is not acceptable.

I was working on a job in SF when I saw a bunch of posts on FB about it, I was unsure about the topic so I briefly found a news update about it. I didn't really get affected by it whatsoever since such acts like that are isolated incidents in our country and I'm never in fear of my life. Think of the fear that people must go through everyday in the Israel/Palestine where suicide bombers are prevalent.

As a country we can't let bad apples destroy our forward progress. If it is an act of terror funded by the ilks of terror organizations their objective is to keep the States in a state of fear, disruption, and panic. We can't fall victim to such tactics and we must continue with our lives. Accept what happened, pay respect to those who have perished, honor those who have saved, reevaluate the system, and move forward.

I'm not one to dwell in the past and often will side with an objective point of view.

I'm somewhat controversial when it comes to the topic of terrorism and violence, and I love it.

The biggest terrorist in the world is the United States of America, no question about it!

What happened in Boston is tragic and there's no excuse for it, but let's get real for a moment. What do you say to the one MILLION Iraqis who lost their lives for nothing or the 1.5 MILLION Vietnamese who died in the Vietnam war? And not to mention the infamous Atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki that wiped out 250.000 or more people in an instant and many more suffered lingering effects of the bomb.

The United States have been terrorizing the world for past century, and the number of innocent people this country have killed is mind blowing.

The Boston tragedy is horrible, no innocent life deserve to be taken recklessly regardless of where they live or which god they pray to. Every life is equal in value and no life is more important than the other. No act of violence is excusable and that sure as hell goes for the United States as well.

Terrorism breeds terrorism and violence breeds violence and for as long as this country continues to wage reckless and worthless wars on other nations, people will rebel and the result will not be pretty.

We don't know yet the motives behind the Boston attack but whatever the motive is we should stop the hate and the stereotypes...and for god sake stop the drone war!

I just realize that I didn't answer to the questions that the ADMIN provided.

I didn't feel anything when it happened nor did I think anything of it, i felt bad for the victims, but honestly I felt a whole lot worse when those 20 kids at Newtown were massacred.

What happened in Texas this week with the fertilizer plant explosion is a whole lot worse than what happened in Boston but for some reason this country is obsessed with terrorism and they forgot about Texas.

I really don't want to speculate on what the motive was, I just want to wait for the facts to come out.

...but let me just comment about what took place on Friday. It's ridiculous that they would shut the whole city down for 24 hours and bring in almost every cop, FBI and National guards in the northeast looking for a 19 year old kid who is hungry, thirsty, Injured and loosing blood... that was just over the top and really pathetic, but I'm glad they got him alive.

When I found out I was in shock but I did not see it as an act of terrorism I just thought of North Korea. I still don't think they did it, they interviewed the older brother in 2011 how come they didn't recognize him when they killed him. All of it sounds fishy maybe it is just another tactic of the government to shut people's mouths another good example of that would be the killing of Osama is there anything physical that proves he got killed? Other than "pictures" and documentaries, I doubt it. In this case there was videos of them and all but none of that leads the FBI to the actual killer(s). Just because they are dressed suspicious doesn't mean anything. Other than abusing somebody's freedom of dressing up weird if anything That is just my input you don't have to agree with me.

there was a time when i wouldve just said they deserved it and i don't care because they did something bad. but ive been trying to be a better person and be more understanding, so lately situations like this just make me feel bad for the "evil" individual. Yes justice should definitely be served and the one who is still alive should answer for his crimes, but at the same time you just have to wonder, why on earth would they do something that would clearly have a negative impact, not only on the victims but on themselves also. we can all say they were extremists and they trying to strike fear into people's hearts, but is that really enough reason to foster the level of chaos they did on Monday and then again on Thursday night? I'm really upset that any of this had to happen at all, but when you think about itm only 3 people died out of the thousands that were attending the Marathon. This could have been A LOT worse. We should all take that into account and be thankful, but also remember those 3 who lost their lives.

As to the bombers in boston when this happen i thought right away that it was a terror attack my reaction was the thought to my mind of the poor innocent people that where affected and how their life changed in a matter of seconds by influenced evil humans that had the guts to act in such way.I think what triggered the two bombers was probably how they where raised by their families and lack of love that was was not given to them then on top of that they got involved with the wrong individuals that seek for this kind of people to commit their crimes against whatever person,place or thing they hate,they where used kind of like a crash dummies but owell this is what happens when people have serious problems and donot look for help and they prefer to take the wrong path and end up getting killed or ruined their lives forever.

The first thing I did was create a group chat on facebook and another on whatsapp to make sure all my friends were alright and safe.

I was on my way back home from work when I turned on the radio and they were all talking about it, it was scary because the very next day our public transportation was suspended (I live 45 mins from Boston).

I heard the terrorist was on his way to New Jersey, so they decided to stop all the train trips.

It is extremely sad to hear of all the people who were injured and had to have their legs amputated when they were just running for a good cause or a charity.

I just don't understand what goes through their mind to do such things.

hopefully the one that is still alive gives some sort of insight on their motives given that they were both very intelligent academically and clearly dont demonstrate any obvious reason for such actions. it sucks that now they are suggesting to bring this incident up during the immigration reform debates. it seems as if when one foreigner does something wrong, we all pay for it, hopefully this wont tip the balance in the wrong direction during the debates and once again immigrants get used as escape goats for a crime that had nothing to do with a reform that we have been waiting for a long time now.

i cant imagine how hard it must be for the families that lost a loved one and for those whole lost limbs during this event. i myself have participated in the L.A marathon a handful of times and an attack like this one is the last thing one would expect at such an event because of how much damage and devastation in can cause and it did. my heart is with everyone affected from this tragic incident. i hope justice is served.

One word "SAD". The story is still too fresh for discussion and most stories are opinions other than what actually took place at the moment of the bombing. Innocent people died and the story behind it is still to vague to me.

SAD to see an innocent kid die over violence when he was actually supporting peace at such young age.

I've tried to refrain from participating in conversations about what is going here right now because after what we've been through as a city, it's offensive and angering that people can't think outside of themselves and decide to be the expert on how law enforcement should have handled this.

I was a few blocks away with my family, including my 1 year old niece and 4 year old nephew, on our way to the finish line to watch the runners finish strong. We heard the booms and my boyfriend who works at Fenway Park immediately called us to tell us to stop walking that way.

We are exhausted. From the nightmare of seeing our streets covered in blood and a picture of this animal smirking as he's walking away from a bomb he just placed behind an 8 year old child and at the legs of innocent people watching such a beautiful, positive event to the almost impossible to believe night and day we had on Friday... I have only the mental and emotional energy to say, if you didn't experience this firsthand, hold your judgements to yourself and send positive energy out.

With a K-9 unit officer in my family and numerous BPD friends, I hope that everyone can admire and be grateful for the top notch, unrelenting service they provided. Yes, our city was on lockdown while you all watched on your TVs because there were two terrorists shooting at our cops (killing a 26 year old cop execution style) and throwing GRENADES AND BOMBS all over our streets after getting caught trying to plant bombs at MIT. If you had 2 psychopaths with an arsenal of guns and explosives running through your city, I hope you wouldn't think it was ridiculous to put it on lockdown so no more people get hurt. I'm sure if that little boy was your child, you wouldn't think it was an overreaction.

These guys were not alone. 3 other men were arrested in Kenmore Square with a bomb in the trunk much larger than the pressure cooker bomb used at the marathon. To this second, we still have hundreds of cops sniffing out areas and keeping presence in the city looking for any other people that might have been involved. It was a great relief to have caught suspect 2 but we really still don't know if there were more.

To have my city that I love so much be attacked in such a brutal way and have things most people only see in movies happen in our streets, it's heartbreaking. To know that if we hadn't been running late on Monday, my family might have had the first bomb blow up on them, is chilling. We're BOSTON STRONG and we are living our lives without having been terrorized but the hurt and pain of these 4 senseless lives being lost and so many others who had arms and legs blown off... we will never forget.

And I urge you to show respect in your comments as many victims and families of victims can see them.

When I saw what was happening the first thing that came to mind was that it was definitely an act of terrorism. I was scared it would be something like 911, then I started thinking about the reform; it would totally ruin our chance! Just seeing these people running around with terror saddened me, 3 dead, but so many more badly injured.

I have no idea why they did it, though I think the younger brother was brainwashed by the older one. They obviously wanted to do great harm to this country but aside from this, some type of religion had to be involved. Though I'm glad one was captured alive, at the same time I feel bad for him for being so young and being brainwashed. Either way, this will not take away the damage they did to those people.

It's sad how all these events have been accumulating. Boston Bombing, Explosion in West Texas, avalanche in colorado, and earthquake on the other side of the world.

I was watching Lucy when my T.v was interrupted to broadcast the terror of what had happened.. Honestly, I instantly felt terrible for all the people who had been there and all who were still trying to get away!Unfortunately the news are really graphic, and my 4 year old was watching t.v with me, I can't stand her watching things like that! and my heart goes out to the mothers of all those who were injured. Good, innocent people died and were hurt for reasons nobody will ever know why.

Whether this will affect the immigration reform: I really hope it doesn't, just like we don't categorized every single white person as a redneck they should not see every single immigrant as a terrorist!!

What I do love is that no matter what happens you always see people who are willing to help, That's one thing this country is great for! We might fall as one but as thousands who stand together and rise to greater heights!!

Well I was home when I first heard about it, and it totally brought me back to sept 11, you know that feeling of being in danger those inevitable what if's. It also made me feel angry, because there was a lot of people who was affected by this, physical and mental.
