I know many people who sent the app before me and gotten approved like in less than 3 months . This may 17 will be 8 months I don't know what to think anymore I tey to stay positive but sometimes I get depressed with this waiting.

I've been waiting since August 29, 2012 which makes it 162 days.

So 162 divided by 31 would be 5 months and a half almost of waiting

Your approval will happen -

Many factors come into play when reviewing applications. Here are some assumptions and facts:

  • USCIS is not reviewing applications on a first come, first served basis
  • Perhaps, some applications/individuals are easier to approve, due to background screenings, etc
  • Remember that USCIS is also revewing other cases, in addition to DACA - think of it as having a bunch of piles, and then DACA is added on top of the piles
  • The increased number of new applicants has decreased the turnover rates of many Service Centers
  • My assumption is that some Service Centers are experiencing a high level of applications, and therefore are re-routing applications either to other Service Centers or Local USCIS satellite offices (It has happened before - Cal to Nebraska, Vermont to Nebraska, Vermont to Local Office, etc)
  • (If anyone has any rebuttals to the above statements, please correct me where I was mistaken)

Therefore, wait patiently...I know it is hard, and it is even harder when you know/have heard of someone getting approved 2 months, let alone two weeks, since their biometrics were taken...but it will happen...either you get an RFE, or the approval, but you will eventually hear from them...I hope you get the latter and not the former!

Try to avoid checking your case status every. single. day., and keep your mind busy...it will come as a surprise, but you will be glad it happened...

They received my App on Aug 16, had Bios on Sep 14th, and was approved this past Feb 14th...I was in your same boat...therefore, it will eventually happen...Trust me ;)

Why 31? Why not 30 or 29?

February had 28 days, therefore, the average of August until March would be ~30.34, which would yield about a little over 5 months...

I am just a numbers geek...

Well said! I been waiting since October 11, and well I was assuming they counted a month as 31 working days and not the number of days each month have

Santi is right. I was approved on May 9th and they received my app on October 9th. I was also getting very desperate and thinking everyone around me was getting approved but me and it just happened when I least expected it. I know its hard to not check everyday and to stay positive, but since they didn't provide a list of reasons why they approved some faster than others, there's nothing else to do but wait. On another note I got my congresswoman involved after someone made a thread about it, I go approved a week after I contacted her. I don't know if she had a hand in it but I did everything that I thought would help and everyone that is still waiting should too.
