Finally Got Approved After Waiting 7Months!

Hey guys. I finally got approved after waiting for so long. I was starting to go crazy. I received my EAD today in the mail! Happiest day of my life.

I got a question though. I already had a SSN card but above my number it says NOT FOR WORK. What do I have to do? Do I need to go to apply for a social like everyone is doing or no.? Helppp

I've never used it. My dad got it for me when I was born, even though I wasn't born here. I've had since then but I've never been able to use it.

You don't have to get another one...

The one that you have works in conjunction with your EAD...

If you look carefully, it says: Valid Only With DHS Authorization - meaning work permit/authorization...

I know because I also had an SSN and before I got my EAD, and when I got the permit, I went the next day to the DMV and got my license...No problem...No questions asked...

Therefore, consider yourself lucky that you don't have to go to the SSN office like many others...

I strongly believe that you won't have to get another one...since you are registered with that particular number and have been for a while...

If you have any more doubts, you can always call the SSN office and ask a representative...you should get either the same information, or another card with the same number...

You still need to go to social security office and get a new one with the same number. The newer one should say ( for working porpuses only )
