The only email/text message I received was for when they received my app. After that I didnt receive anything else and was approved about a week ago.

That's because you need to create an account online on the USCIS website to get text/emails. You only signed form G-1145, that's to get the text/email when they have received your app.

It just tells you that your case has been updated and to check the status at www.uscis.gov
