Credit Card Application

Recommended Posts

Guys, I just applied for a credit card and got rejected, total bummer! I don't understand how that happened, it was a Newcomers CC from capital one, for new people to the US, since I just got an SSN. I called them and they said they needed me to rate my credit score in order to recommend me a CC, and I told them i have used an ITIN for the last 8 years. I've never used my ITIN for anything but taxes and rent... so, I applied for this card online because that was the only way to do it, and I got rejected. How is someone that is applying for a Newcomer's card have any credit? Isn't the whole point of this Newcomer's card to be a newcomer to this country and along with it comes the fact that no newcomer has a credit history? I am totally pissed about this. I was totally mislead on applying for this card. It is my resposibility, but I still feel cheated.

Does anyone knows of a good credit card to apply for?

Thanks

I was told by some friends that I have to start with stores first then CC companies...I'm not that much of a shopper, but I have to make the sacrifice.. <_< . What are some credit cards to start with?

I also applyed for a CC from different places but all got rejected. I went to Bank of america where i have a saving and checkings account and applyed with them. I was approved for a secure credit card.

I had to pay $100 (which they will return in a year) to get $500 credit. and a yearly fee of $39.... to start building credit i suggest you do that... Hope this helps

Thanks! I will try at Citizen's Bank, I have had an account there for 10 years. I am wondering how to ger my credit score from ITIN...does anyone know? I also read that if I haven't applied for a loan or cc, there would be zero credit history, is that true? I need a loan for 6k also for a car, I was hoping I could get that at my bank as well. Since I don't make as much as my husband I thought I could put him as a cosigner but he doesn't have a SSN, he has an ITIN...I don't even know what to do. I am super bummed about the credit card I applied for. I will definitely try BOA if CB doesn't work. Thanks guys!
