WGATAP 17 Posted May 21, 2013 I was reading on another forum and someone got denied for putting their residence as their home country instead of U.S. I checked my application and just realized that I put my home country as my place of residence. It wasn't a mistake, because I thought my home country would be my place of residence since i'm illegal here. I'm a visa overstay and only way to get back to my country is by plane. If i did leave then I would not be permitted to reenter. Can I just call and explain my mistake or what should I do? I'm a little scared. I do have the money order receipt and post office receipt from that day.
JoseG 383 Posted May 21, 2013 Here are two people who also made that mistake and they were approved. http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=41323&page=5 2 R2r01992 and WGATAP reacted to this
Me15** 29 Posted May 21, 2013 Call and ask if that mistake will hurt you. Don't assume that bc somebody else got denied maybe you are. Who knows maybe they had something else on there application that you don't know of. Good luck 1 WGATAP reacted to this

WGATAP 17 Posted June 21, 2013 Just updating this for someone who might be going through the same situation. I emailed the Nebraska Service Center and they said my answer was fine.
